I just wanted to give some Jedi training info, since I know I had a question about this. We were just there today....I was concerned about the new way they were picking Jedis', since it was a first come first serve line up instead of the pick out of the crowd way.

It actually worked out great. People were saying that you basically had to run at rope drop to get in line. Well we overslept since the kids were exhausted. We got there around 10am. The first show was at 9:55, DH got in line with the kids arround 10:05 for the 10:50 show. They took 30 kids! They have them on the stage and ground now. There was no need to rush, they still had 2 spots left 2 minutes before the show started. And the kids on the stage fight Darth Vader. The kids on the ground fought Darth Maul.

HTH!!!

Hmm...this is typical for Star Wars Weekends, or for the busiest days...I wouldn't have expected it at the current time though...

While TSMM is down the Jedi Training Academy is running two-tier shows, feature Darth Maul in addition to Vader.

That's awesome! I hope it stays that way!

What is the best strategy to do a show later in the day?
I am not sure we can make the first morning show?

How many shows a day are there?

my 7 year old will die if he misses this..LOL

We were there right before they closed Star Tours for refurbishment, and I have to say I LOVE the way they are running the academy now (lining up vs choosing from crowd). I have 2 boys who are 20 months apart, and the youngest has autism. We never attempted the training before because my youngest would NEVER have understood if he could not particpate. We got rained out on our first 2 attempts but got cool pictures inside Star Tours w/Darth Vader and Storm Troopers, and Jedis. We tried again the next day for 2nd show and got in with both boys! My boys are 11 and 9. My youngest has moderate ASD, but he has had tons of therapy, made a lot of progress, and was really motivated to do this so we thought we'd let him try. He did AWESOME and did it all on his own with no help from his overbearing mother LOL, dad, or big brother. I was so happy for him. The kids had a great time!

It was really cool, photopass takes a ton of pictures but have your camera going too. The line to be in the show actually forms in a queue over at Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous (there are signs marking where to go or you can ask a cast member). Only one person has to be in line to sign up, but make SURE and have phones to let whoever has the trainees know when they need to be there for the show. Sometimes they do the show a little earlier than the listed time depending on weather so make sure the kids are close by near show times (20 minutes before).

May the Force Be With You & HTH!

We were there the week before last and they made you wait on line to get in the show. Honestly, I think this is a stupid way of doing it--making someone wait on line for HOURS instead of just making a list. A waste of a lot of time when you could be enjoying the park.
