FYI for Future February Dl trips

We were caught off guard on this trip. We went over Presiday Day weekend and the week following. Now, we knew That monday would be packed, but what we didn't know is that Calif. Schools (not all, but many) were closed for a Winter/ski break. So the park was super busy, packed out with guest! Moving from ride to ride was hard.
We thought it would be light that week.... not.
Just thought I would send out a FYI, if you plan a trip in Feb. Check to see what week the schools are out for that particular break. The weeks are different every year.

We just got back last night, we were there this Fri to Mon, and were surprised at how busy it was. It was busier this weekend than when we went last March for our Spring Break. Good idea to check when Calif. schools are out. My oldest daughter kept asking why there were so many teenagers at the park, I have the answer now.

Every year my DH, a teacher in Marin, gets "ski week". This is always the week of the President's Day holiday. The school where I teach, and my boys go to school, does not get this week off, just the day. However, we get done with school at the end of May, while DH goes until June 10th. Every school district does something different so it is hard to keep track.

We went in 2008 and 2009 during this week and the park was not busy. We went again this week and are not planning on doing so again as it was way busier.
