FYI... Disneyland closing at 5pm on Oct 21!

I do know for a fact that the Miley Cyrus birthday event is happening on October 5. I'm striving to go to Burbank that same day to an autograph show to meet Goofy and Donald...er, the voice actors of them, that is! So, I plan to stay away from DL as much as possible that day!

Of course not, and no one has said it does. However, it is a business. If there is someone or some company that is willing to pay the price to buy out the place, Disney is going to make the business decision to do so. Those that are included in that event feel special. Those that are not feel slighted.

...And finally, if the private event is a Halloween party for the children of CMs, then surely that was something they could have planned for a bit sooner?? Did they suddenly decide to do this now? They couldn't have figured out the date before the end of September?

The third is just the TOT on Friday night. Maybe I'm wrong, but I had heard that they close CA earlier on those nights.

I'm sure if someone offered me $250,000 to vacate my house for a few hours so they could have a party, I'd take them up on it To be honest, I'd rather have them shut the park down for the private party on Tues than have POTC down the whole time we're there as originally planned, so I guess I could concede that the decision to postpone the Pirates refurb might possibly make up for the early closure

I still think they could quit packing so much private stuff into October!

If we are talking about "Little Monsters on Main Street" this CM event has been around for years...This event was the only Halloween Party at DL for some time (and the only way to enjoy it was to be a CM)... the LMOMS event was before there was a MNSSHP...you can google it to learn more about it...No Joke...JC

My MIL just called. They were going to DL with relatives up here from Australia. She just got a call from Disney regarding their 6:00 BB ressies saying they would need to move them to 3:00 because of the closure.

I didn't know when they were going and never put the dates close enough together to potentially warn her.

They were only going the 21 and 22 and were staying at the DL hotel that night. She is so mad that she is talking about cancelling and only going down the 22nd.

i would have hated to be the CM that had to call her....(I love her but she can be a little scary

I completely understand that it's a business, it's just disappointing to have things planned out and have them changed so close to a trip. I probably wouldn't have gotten 5 day hoppers and would've just planned on DTD the afternoon we get there (10/21). I wanted Disney to know that it does impact people. It would be great if there were some sort of date by which you could count on park hours not changing (like a month out or something like that).

I am glad I know ahead of time or I might feel a little like Clark Griswold on Family Vacation!
