FYI-Direct flights!! Springfield, MO to Orlando SFB

For those of us anywhere near Springfield, Mo - just heard the announcement. Allegiant Air will be flying nonstop from Springfield-Branson airport to Orlando-Sanford. Starts in October, but they're booking now. Flights are on Wed. and Sat. Intro fare is $59 each way.

Until now, getting from SFG to Orlando has been a "you can't get there from here" type of thing. No direct flights, long layovers, bad times and fares are always expensive. Most of us end up driving long distances elsewhere for good flights, so this is VERY welcome news. YAAYYY!!

We've already got nonrefundable tickets on AA out of Fayetteville, Ark (XNA). I wish they'd announced this six weeks earlier! We could have saved $450 and a lot of time enroute. Ah, well, there's always next time!

I too saw the announcement and checked the airline's website this morning. While we could have saved about $300 total for the 3 of us by using Allegiant, we would have had to change our dates and would not have been able to take advantage of the "free" dining offer for our stay 10/1 - 10/9. I do like their flight times so hopefully they will stick around and we can try them next year. (If I can talk DH into going back next year).
