I just got off the phone with Guest Services (Annual Pass Department) at Universal Orlando and they provided me with the following information regarding Annual Power Passes & Season Passes.

Annual Power Pass - As of 5:00 PM today, the June/July blackout dates have been lifted. The blackout dates are still in effect for December.

Season Pass - Originally, they were intended for Florida Residents only. That has since been changed, and they are now available to anyone. Blackout Dates have been lifted for the remainder of the year, and they are now good through Dec. 31st.

After a few minutes I decided to call back and confirm this information... The Rep replied that none of the information was correct. So I urged him to check with his department manager, which he did, and he came back a few minutes later and confirmed that both were in fact correct.

His name was Carlos.

If anybody tries to re-confirm this information, please let us know what you find out.

I purchased my tickets last week...I was told the same thing as OP.
No blackouts
Everyone can buy, not just Fl. residents
good till Dec. 31
99.00 plus tax and a service charge or fee of some kind
I think its an awesome deal!!!

Okay...just so I am understanding this correctly.

1. I can buy a season pass for $99 even though I am not a Florida resident.

2. There will be no blackout dates.

3. The season pass will be vaild until Dec. 31st and not the date of purchase.

Its the power pass...but yes that is exactly right. If you bought a regular power pass i think the price is 149.00, and it would be good for a year. It would have blackout dates. We were paying 99.00 for our 7 day tickets, i just figured i'd pay the same, get the deal they are offering and go one more time before the end of the year with nothing more coming out of our pocket and if we couldnt go again, oh well, I still would have had to pay 99.00 for my 7 day passes that I will be using next week.
does this sound right? or confusing? lol.

We are military, so my hubby got a free ticket, I won one on the Superbowl add, and we purchased the kids discount tickets for the military. Do you think they would credit any of this towards the Season or Annual pass?

the free tickets are not eligible to upgrade to passes.

the ones you bought at a discount, i don't know for sure.

if you can upgrade them, i am thinking you would pay the difference of what you did pay for them to the passes you are wanting to upgrade to.

Mac is correct. The free ticket can't be upgraded but the others can. You will pay the difference in the price between what you paid and the annual pass.

.. but you still need a promo code for the season pass so we (UK residents) can't purchase them? Shame - theywould have been ideal for our extended stay :(

Just a heads up.....We just came home yesterday from spending 4 days at Universal. When I went to guest services last Monday to exchange my Ticketmaster paper Power Pass for the cardboard ones, the guest ervices rep asked me for my Florida drviers license. So, I would make sure I had the name and phone number of the person at Universal who verified that they are not just for Fl residents. Apparantly word has not gotten to all the guest services reps. :confused3

THis is good information to follow. My adult DD and SIL was just going to buy the $99 ticket for their 2 day visit in August, so now what I read is that they could still spend $99 for the ticket and get another visit in October? (buying the seasonal pass).

The current AP promotions are ending, so I'm watching to see what new ones come out. Still hoping for the 2 park 2 day tickets for 50% off like last year.

Does anyone know if you buy a Power Pass on flexpay, if you can upgrade that pass to a Premier later on down the line? IF you can how does it work? Do you just pay the difference between the two and lose the flexpay option? :confused3

The only way to upgrade is to pay off the flexpay contract and pay the difference in price between the two annual passes. As long as you are on flexpay, you can't upgrade. If you buy a Power Pass outright, then it is easy to upgrade since it isn't on flexpay.

Thanks Phantom. :goodvibes

DH and I are trying to squeeze in a quick trip to the parks in two weeks, but with our move, plus trip to Tampa funds are getting tight, I suggested Flexpay until we get settled in FL and can upgrade to Premier. I can't wait to be a premier member. :woohoo:

I wanted to mention that I emailed the passholder office and asked about the seasonal passes now being available to passholders and they told me no. They said they only lifted the blackout dates and that only Florida residents can purchase them....:confused3

****Here's the email I got back:

With regards to your question, Regretfully, The Seasonal Annual Pass is an offer to Florida residents only. What we have done was lifted the blackout dates for the rest of the year. By doing so, we have “opened” the usage dates of the pass. I apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Online Ticket Store at 407-224-7840. Our hours are Monday - Saturday 7:30am-10:00pm and Sunday 9:00am-9:00pm EST.

Thank you and have a great day!
