Hi all! I'm not sure if this is known or not so I thought I would share.

If you book a room only ressie you can later add on your tickets....any kind you want. Your ticket is now considered to be a "key to the world ticket". The ticket does have to be paid in full when you add it to the ressie. SO HERE IS THE GOOD THING......they are COMPLETELY refundable. So you would still have room only cancellation policy (outside of 5 days...fully refundable) and your tickets are refundablle at any time. However, if you choose to have your tickets mailed to you then that becomes a seperate order and they would be non refundable at that point.

Just thought this was good info to pass along!

So if I call to add on my tickets to my room only reservation, do I need to pay for the tickets in full at that time?

Thanks! :)

yes, when you add the tickets they do need to be paid for at that time.

I've been hearing conflicting info on this. One TA told me that I had to pay for the tickets in full when I booked to room to "link" them to the reservation and get the benefit of the tickets being refundable with 5 day cancellation, the tickets would be on our room keys instead of seperate paper tickets, and you could upgrade at the resort instead of the park. She said if I got them later I couldn't link them to the room and get these benefits.

I'd never heard about this before. It would be great if you can add the tickets on at any time since this is a large expense to pay so far in advance. Does anyone else have info on this?

I am a Disney TA but on top of that one of my best friends works in Disney reservations. He does a lot of training(of new agents) and is the one who told me about this along with a number of other Disney agents that mostly deal with travel agents.

You have to pay for the tickets in full to link them to your reservation...meaning it will be added to your room key. If you order them and have them sent to you then they are a paper ticket at which point they become non refundable.

Hope I explained it better.

Hi this sounds great but i have have a few questions. If the tickets are linked to your room key what happens if you buy the no expiry option. Do you get papper tickets for the left over. Also Can you do this if you book room only and diining option. thanks for your help

Forgive me if my question may sound stupid, I'm still learning about this whole new ticket thingy.. I already booked a room under a discount code. Can I purchase the tickets upon arrival? Thanks.

No ? is stupid! We are all still learning. You should purchase your tickets in advance because they will be discounted. If you purchase them when you arrive you will pay the gate price.

Belle, you can not do this with the dining option as that is a "package". I will check on the no expiration question.

I would verify this with a CM before assuming it and make certain you have it writing. I just called CRO and was told all tickets are non-refundable. Even the "key to the world" ticket. I then called back and another CM told me that they were refundable. As usual, Disney CRO has conflicting answers. :)

They do put your name on them, like they do for the Disney Cruise.

Just to make sure I correctly understand it: If you book room only, later add tickets you cannot also add the dining package. In other words, you cannot get the dining package with discounted room rates?

Thank you.

If you add the dining package then you now have that...a package... so you now go back to the "package" cancellation policy. Does the way I worded that make sense?

I think a lot of the Cm's are still confused and as always they give conflicting answers. I have talked to several of the CM's that deal with the "travel agent" line and they have all said the tickets are refundable. Again, my friend is a CM there and does a lot of the training so he really knows what he is talking about.

Hope this helps!

I was told by 2 CM's that I could not add the dining package to my "room only" which was discounted. They told me the dining package would only be offered in conjunction with a room at a non discounted price.
So I decided not to do it. Because I got POFQ for $104 a night and it didn't seem worth it when I did the math of a package the room came out to almost $150 a night. The additional money for the dining package seemed to be about the same maybe a little less than what we usually pay in a day.

Did I figure this out wrong. Because I would love to add the dining package to the rate I have for March.

The other reason I didn't want the dining package was because CM said I had to have it for everyday that I had my room, but I planned on going to Universal and Seaworld this trip.

Thanks for passing along that information, Kim! Good to know :)

You didn't figure this out wrong, this is the "catch" to the dining package. It sounds like a good deal at $35/day and if you choose right you can break even or even save $10-20 per day over paying for your own meals (assuming you would actually order and be able to eat appetizer, entree, & dessert in 1 sitting). But you lost your $46 savings from your room so now you're actually paying $81/day for dining (46 plus 35). Edited to say oops figured that out wrong, you'd have to divide the $46 by the number of people in the room then add that to each persons dining price to find what you're actually paying per day per person.

Just got the word from guest services:

"They will have their tickets downloaded to the key to their room. Whatever days are left over they will still be reflected on that card and they will be able to use it in the future."

Hope this helps!

They told me today that they are non-refundable and I bought them after I made a room only ressie.

In my case I have a room only reservation. I called back to add an AP and a MYW-Ticket both as will call. So does it mean I get my MYW-Ticket at check-in put on my room key but have to go to one of the theme parks for the AP?

I am trying to figure this out....help!

I have a room only reservation, (full price, agh!), but I am going to join CAA to get that discount.

I was hoping to add the MYW tickets and the dinning package at the last minute (ie 5days before cancelation)

Can I do this?

I am new on the boards and trying to learn as much as possible before our trip in a month. (mar 5-12)

thanks for any tips!

If you set up your tickets for "will call" then you have to get them at the ticket window. Technically a "will call" arrangement is non refundable....I'm assuming they gave you the order # to bring to the window. When you add your tickets to your room reservation they are under the same reservation number.

SandraB.....if you add your tickets and dining then you no longer have a "room only" reservation....you are now the proud owner of a "package"! LOL Dining can only be booked as a package so if you are to add dining and tickets on before you travel then the tickets are now non refundable...make sense?

EEyorelover22...you needed to have them linked to your ressie in order for them to be non refundable. If you had them sent to your home or set them up as "will call" pick up then the CM arranged it as a "ticket order" and not a "add on" to your reservation.

Thanks for your help! I hope I never again work with the person I worked with for my reservation! She told me I could add dining which I cannot even now when they came out with a 10 day package...finally have that answered correctly tonight (there is a 10 day package). She wouldn't let me leave them on my reservation...I had to have them sent to me. They can see that I ordered them from Disney and I think if I really pushed the issue, I could get a package, but after reading the $$ breakdown http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=723575

it's not for us anyway. I've got a Migraine Your Way ;)

I did get one answer that was the same each time...I can upgrade my 10 day MYW ticket to an AP if I want to! Thank goodness.
