The last time I asked, I was told that all the resort pools were kept at the same temperature (82) during the winter months.

Maybe this has changed? :confused3

No, no change--they'll still tell you that but I don't believe it. I know the FW pool is cooler than 82 in the winter!! brrrr

They can "try" to keep the pool at 82, but when it gets down to 30 at night, it is nearly impossible to keep it that warm. It can get chilly.

One last thought if you want the FW guest to be able to pool hop. If you have enough DVC points, you could let them buy points from you (or someone else for that matter) and reserve their campsite with DVC points ..... this way they would have all the same priviledges as you. It is only 6 pts. per weeknight and 10 points on the weekends and they could pool-hop to their hearts content!

Are these the point "prices" all year, or is there a different point "price" for each of the "seasons"?

The point price goes up during holiday season to 10 on weekdays and 18 weekends. The point price I quoted was for value season (which is when we usually go). As an FYI, I was not able to get a reservation for the last week of my stay at FW (Dec. 29 to Jan.5) using CRO, but was able to get the days easily using DVC. They just started making FW available through DVC in 2006, so many people don't know about it yet.

I just don't understand why they can't put a slide at the boring FW pool to make it more exciting for the kids.

I believe DVC pool hopping is only allowed when you stay in a DVC resort. FW is not a DVC resort even though you can use points at it.

I have stayed at WL and FW. The pool at WL is too small for the resort in my opinion. Please do not suggest that FW guest can swim there unless you register them and all your guest, including children on your WL reservation.

Thanks

We were at WL last year for 12 days around the 4th of July and several times they asked to see room keys at WL usually the pool cleared out quick. Lots of families were embarassed. :sad2:

I pay alot of money for my stays in WDW and my DVC ownership...if ANYONE ever asked to see my resort ID I would be highly offened!

Unfortunately, it could happen. Especially in the more popular pools, like WL, YC/BC, AKL, etc. If you are not staying on DVC points, then your resort ID will not identify you as a DVC member, and you are not allowed to pool hop. But, do you have a separate DVC membership card that you could show? Maybe they would let you stay. :)

You have to be staying at a DVC resort to pool hop. I do not stay at DVC on weekends, therefore I can not pool hop on weekends. I do not think DVC would enforce the rule by asking for ID cards if the pool is not crowded. I would rather show my ID card than not go in the pool because it is too crowded with guest that are not staying at the resort. DVC members are not allowed to hop at some resorts, BC and AK. During busy seasons there is no pool hoping allowed.

We are planning a trip next Spring along with 2 other families. Our Family will be staying in a DVC Villa, hopefully the Wilderness Lodge, and the other two families will be staying at Fort Wilderness. We are accustomed to our special resort privelages and I was wondering if they will have the same privelages as FW guests?
1) Will they be allowed to Pool Hop?
2) Are they entitled to Early Morning our Extended Evening hours.

I certainly hope that they have the same privelages. With the cost of their campsite fees they should have some privelages! :Pinkbounc

DVC members are able to pool hop but regular resort guests are not. Now in saying that the DVC member is allowed the pool hopping not his guests if you rent points you are supposedly not considered teh DVC member thus their privelege is not carried over to the renter just the owner hope this helps. We rented to a couple last March and they went to hop to another pool and were not asked for room keys but for the blue DVC member card which they didn't have only the key which said DVC member but they were denied the hopping so you may want to look into that if you are renting points.

This doesn't work you have to be staying at a DVC resort on points to use the pool hopping privelege this is stated in teh member policy. Also like I said they have been asing for the member ID not key cards recently so unless you are the actual DVC member you may be denied hopping anyhow.
