I had skipped the last couple of years of the RV show @ the Fl State Fairgrounds. I decided to go this year though. FW has a booth of course. As I walked up they were explaining to someone that they didn't have any special rates to offer. No need since occupancy is high. They also said that for the first 6 months that Magic Kingdom was open, FW was just for use by employees.

Anyway, I scanned in a couple FW ads. One from the Official Show Program and a couple of pages from a brocuhre Disney was handing out. I can scan in the other pages if anyone wants.

Cool. I've never seen a FW booth at an RV show. Not that they really need to advertise. AAMOF, I wish they would STOP. Maybe we should all start slamming FW so that other people won't want to stay there ?? :rolleyes1

The Chicago RV show always has a Disney booth. Been a couple years since I went. That is coming up in a week...Might just take a drive and see if they are there again.

Yeah I have been thanking the same thing we need to stop telling people how great it really is and start telling them it sucks:confused3 . That way I would not have to make a reservation so far ahead of time. Before I even go on my up coming trip I have to reserve for the one after that.

I will be at the Fort Lauderdale RV show in May at the Broward County Convention Center. If anyone goes look for our carts and booths, cant miss us:thumbsup2

Good luck, I hope you sell out. PM with your website, and I will list it on mine.

I was at the Tampa super show yesterday and stopped @ the FW booth. They have a poster up with all the renovations planned for the fort. Pool going to be redone. Some site going to be redone with bigger pads. All concrete no more shells. But the sites they are making bigger there is a new rate, they will be called the premium campsite, higher priced then the preferred. I think shoe told me they would be scattered thru the fort. She also said that it would take about 5 years to do everything. So in the process they will be shutting down campsites to do the work. Which will make it harder to get a resse.

Yes I was there yesterday also and talked to them for a while. Looks like the premium sites are going to be $10 more than the preferred sites.

we were there today. they are making the wider sites in the preferred loops, and i guess 1100, 1200 area. The pool is going to be renovated next year. they are putting cable in ALL of the sites.

I asked about wi-fi (disney is crap for not having it) - no plans

No more cocina rock, all cement

they are EXPANDING the fort, by 12 sites or so here and there where there is room

RIVER COUNTRY - still closed

The show itself wasn't too crowded, i wonder if times are slowing on the RV industry.

i did ask about peacocks, then he called security and had me whisked away.

this brochure was also at the pittsburgh rv show last week but it also included rates for all the different sites. people were grabbing these brochures left and right, including me!

It IS a small world after all, we were at the Pittsburgh show last week to  what part of Pa are you from? We are near Beaver/Chippewa.

we're on the other side of the city, northeast, new kensington:wave2:
nice to meet you neighbor!
i wish there were more vendors at the shows.

This time it looks to be for real. on sunday they had one of the fort workers there, looking all official with his name badge, and they had marketing collateral set up with the information.

Fort Wilderness Renovations

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just went to the Florida Supershow RV Convention at the Florida State Fairgrounds and met the General Manager of Fort Wilderness. It seems they are doing a 3-5 year renovation project, which will include a new pool area in the next year and a half! The promotional material included pictures of the resort in Hilton Head as possible inspiration and will include a slide and a hot tub. Of course, I've heard these rumors for years, but this is the first time I've heard someone in management talk about it with a huge display on the renovations. Also, it seems they will be adding another level of campsite, featuring wider and longer sites, and Jean even mentioned that they would be adding about a dozen new sites!---------

cool that it will resemble the HH pool. maybe they saw my post on here a few months back showing a picture of the HH big dipper pool.:thumbsup2
