FW Camping for Jersey Week?

Perhaps I could redeem myself by commenting on how much easier it is to cool down or heat a smaller Kiwi, but that seems weak. How can I criticize someone who has such good taste in RV's?

So, bubble partially deflated due to original issue, but still solidly intact.

:thumbsup2

All kidding aside would you agree that the Jayco KIWI line was awesome? I like the new JayFlights however not as eye appealing as the Kiwi Line was... Our trailer is an 02, and really no problems at all... I took it back to the dealer earlier this year for some minor A/C work - More so because I wanted to get some value out of the warranty than anything else. I've been back looking at the new Jaycos each year but nothing really appeals to me, everything not a Kiwi almost feels like I'd be taking a step down....

Ours is an '01, which we bought in '02 as a leftover. It is hard, in the hybrid line, anyway, to beat the Kiwi. The solid wood cabinetry sold us - sure is better than the plastic on particle board so many campers have today. The only trouble we have had is a minor leak in the front bunk which was corrected with a new gasket. It really tows nicely and is quick to set up, which I appreciate. We have the bunk option which allows our family of 4 to sleep without setting up, for those quick overnight stops on the way to FW. Fully open, it has the interior space of a 30' trailer and sleeps 8, but that would be a bit cozy. I haven't seen anything that would make me want to trade in my Kiwi.

i am so glad you two got it together, I am from new joisy and you were killing my magical feeling. Are joisy people not liked? whats not to like? I am torn. I am orignally from NYC so NJ people dont like me either, and now i guess your gonna tell me i have 2 strikes against me. (joisyite with a bad accent/attitude) really i dont though. well i dont have an attitude. (cant help the accent, "ya know?")
anyway just wanted to pipe up and make this even sillier. This is a great site and am trying to squeeze myself into a joisy week deal. Was just checking out you campers. I was checking to see if it was a more affordable path, but I didnt realize there was such a caste system among RVers.
I guess i would be really looked down on if i showed up in a pop up or even worse, a tent.
by the way, i think the rv in the picture is awesome!

If you just go back and read the thread, it was pretty much tongue in cheek. I have nothing against people from joisey, well, except that they are the world's worst drivers. But if you can't get a deal during joisey week, perhaps you can be persuaded to come down during Pennsylvania week. Just bring some Jersey tomatoes and corn and leave the accent at home. ;)

It's Disney, does'nt matter where you are from you will be welcomed with open arms (Or so I hear...) I think Ftguy would agree that for the most part (exceptions to everything) camping folks are down to earth people so even if you camping in your car noone would look at you any differently.

Although I think FW is booked for said 'Jersey/Virginia/Pennsylvania/NovaScotia' week, but it cannot hurt to call...

In your KIWI pic, is that a preferred site? Are all the sites relatively the same size? Although it looks very secluded (Which we all love) it would appear to be a wee bit small...

Actually, that picture was taken in the 1900 loop, which is a full hook up pet loop. Sites are well wooded and larger than most of the preferred spots. However, they are off limits to people from New Jersey, mainly because Disney has found that people from New Jersey have difficulty backing trailers into spots with trees within 50 feet.

you campers are fun people, i wish i could talk my wife into camping,
I'll bet there is some funny times in the wilderness.
What if i rented an R.V., is that crazy?
could i rent it on the way, say in st. augustine?
probably not cost effective though.

oh well. i will leave you alone now.

by the way. my tomatoes are red and awesome. no corn though.

Onelug-Renting is a goodway to get your feetwet and I'm certain there are some near Disney... Rental Fees are generally high though....

FTguy - I'm uncertain how you would know if it was diffulcult to back a trailer into a spot, a child could back in a glorified popup such as yours, it takes mad skills to back in a 'Real' trailer... Do you often attach 'Radio Flyers' to your bumper and back it in between lincoln log homes for practice?

All homes in PA are made of Lincoln Logs, you know. In fact, I bought a new house last year at WL - the lincoln log lodge replica. We love the extra space.

Disney recognizes that New Jersey is mostly pavement, so they try to keep you folks in paved areas with fewer trees so you feel more at home. A bus driver told me last year that Disney is considering converting the overflow lot in the outpost area to a special preferred hookup spot reserved for New Jersey residents only. It must be true, since it was told to me by a FW bus driver.

:rotfl:

Oh yeah your from PA, that explains everything.....

You know you're from Pennsylvania if...

You only own three spices: salt, pepper, ketchup.

You design your Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

You have more miles on your snowblower than your car.

You have an uncontrollable urge to buy bread and milk when you hear the word "snow."

Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightie.

:dance3:
