I LOVED THE CABINS! We loved the quiet and beauty that surrounds the cabin area. We also really liked the pool even though it was just a pool (no slide or other such stuff). There are two and one for the cabins specifically - but it got crowded and, well, if any more of us complain about the pools at FTW, they're sure to do something soon with these pools, right...right.... - but until then, the beauty and the amenities of the cabins make up for the pools (which really are quite lovely and the ones at the cabins smell like jasmine). I would also recommend a golf cart to get to the other areas of the campground - we didn't get one and it made traveling anywhere slow - not a problem unique to the cabins. We stayed with another couple and our two children both under the age of two. It worked out great and we didn't feel cramped at all. The difference between cabins at FtW and other Home away from Home rooms is the deck, the grill, and the peacefulness of the campground. You get a full size fridge, stove, and microwave and cooking utensils and pots and pans at the cabins - making life with toddlers great while being away from home. The back bedroom is very large and the bathroom is truly very, very nice and large also. We slept on the pullman out in the living room and set up a full size crib we rented next to us to give you an idea of the size of the living room. We then used the dining area each night to play cards and games after the kids went to sleep - so the cabins are really super roomy for four people plus kids.
We went over to the Wilderness Lodge and I couldn't wait to get back - the pool was absolutely jammed with people and kids - the lobby was like a bus station and there was not quiet to be found anywhere. It is a huge difference at FtW that I liked a lot.
I was told that Loop 2500 was the best by far - well, we requested it and it just so happened that that loop was closed for some renovation work so they placed us in 2600 - what a stroke of good luck. Loop 2600 was beautiful, private, and has a bus stop at the end of it and is directly across Peacock Pass from the pool - so request this loop for all the best amenities and make sure you ask to be near the start (or end depending on whether or not you are a glass is half full or half empty type of person ) of the loop and you will not have far to walk at all for everything you need.
To further explain why it was a stroke of luck NOT to get Loop 2500, that loop has very little trees and the loop is small so the cabins back up onto one another making being on your deck very open to your neighbors unlike the wooded privacy we got in Loop 2600. Loop 2500 has the handicap accessible cabins so if you are physically challenged, this will be where they place you. The cabins seem to be a little larger due to this and the decks are definately a little larger in Loop 2500 to accommodate wheelchairs accessibility.
I am now a huge fan of Loop 2600 as you can tell - wherever you are, though, you will be surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the campground - I couldn't, and still can't, get over the beauty and peace and quiet we found there.
Have fun with whatever you choose - all resorts are absolutely lovely.
Oh, and one more thing (I know, I know - super long thread but...), I am realizing while planning this next trip that it was sooo wonderful to be able to take that boat around to MK and to the Contemporary to get to the TTC - it was another aspect to the peacefullness of the place.
