We are so excited about staying in the cabins at FW for the first time next month! We had reservations to stay there last year but had to cancel at the last minute. Hopefully we actually make it this time.

But anyway, do the cabins have safes?

TIA

Yes, the cabins have safes. Similar to the safes found in other WDW resorts. These used to have a key that you would remove and have to keep track of, but these may have been replaced by the ones that use a magnetic strip (the cabins were updated in the last year or so).

The cabins still have the key lock safes. I had hoped they would change these to the digital key pads but nope!

Have a great trip! We loved staying in the cabins.

Peace.

Thank you for your replies. I figured there were safes but I wanted to be sure.

re: the updates - were they just cleaning/repainting updates? Or more major than that?

Cleaning, painting, new bedspreads. I think the furniture got reupholstered too.

I am in a cabin now. The soft furnishings all look and feel brand new. The stove and microwave seem fairly new, although the fridge and dishwasher show some wear. The cabin is clean. However, there are some maintenance issues I'll be reporting when I check out. The door to the bathroom is a hollow core door, and the two outer panels are separating from the edges big time, and the inside door knob is falling out of the door, to the point where I will not close the bathroom door (fortunately, it's a solo trip). I also have at least three electric outlets that don't work (one by the bed, and both of the ones in the bathroom). Oh, and the safe looks and feels new (it's a little on the stiff side because the hinge hasn't been used much). One thing I love, for all of you who like a cold room, is that the thermostat can be set low and actually gets the place cold! I've been sleeping at 64 degrees and it's heaven!:cloud9:

I would report the issues now, but I don't want to have to repack and move if they need to have several days to fix the problems. I can make do fine, and it wouldn't keep me from staying in a cabin again.
