FW buses or Rental Car?

Hi everyone.I've been a lurker to this site for quite a while but now have a question.We are going to FW cabins 8/18-25 and originally booked a towncar for transp. to and from MCO and will use WDW buses for our stay but (2) glitches have come up and I wonder if I should just rent a car for our stay and forget about the TC.
(1)we have ressies for the Illuminations cruise 9p 8/19-how do we go about getting there and what time should we leave to get there by 8P?
(2)We also have ressies for Cirque 8/21 6P and have heard that FW buses to DTD start to run @ 6p- if so how do we get there?

We've stayed on site quite a few times but always had our own car and DH is getting annoyed with me and really wants to use limo service.

Buses to Downtown Disney run from the Fort Wilderness Outpost Depot starting around 8:45am, and run every 20 minutes until 2:00am.

As for your Illuminations Cruise, if you're not going to be at Epcot already, and will be leaving from FW, I'd recommend using the Studios as a transfer point... catch the bus to the Studios, and then the boat to Yacht/Beach. I'm thinking the Studios transportation should still be open afterwards, so just reverse the process to get back.

Trish, if the Studios are not still open to use as a transfer point after your cruise, I would HIGHLY reccomend just catching a cab from the hotel where you end up at. I had to do the Marketplace transfer once after an Illuminations Cruise, during the Spring, when park hours are shorter, and it was a 1.5-2 hour trip back to my hotel
