And it's suppose to rain for the next 3 days straight. I cancelled my trip 2 hours ago. OUCH. First time I have ever had to cancel vacation plans, so I would say I've been rather lucky. Just didn't want to pull my popup through flooded roads, setup in downpours and hang out in the popup for my 3 day trip. You should have some nicer weather starting Thursday. Waaaaa, wanted to do some walking on the trails. Oh well, next trip in the Fall........Although,, maybe I'll sneek over tomorrow for a baby trip to Epcot and checkout the flowers. Hmmmmm, ..........

Watching the weather and the radar is nasty!!!!!!!! Be careful and be safe.

yep-they say we're getting the well needed wet stuff all week (today the most 90% chance of rain). :cool1:you could run up to Walmart and grab some disposable poncho and do some shopping at Downtown Disney. watch out-some of the lightning in a few of the cells is pretty bad. Enjoy your vacation:wizard:

I'm sorry, but the lake behind my house is empty and this rain is long over-due for us - so please - let us who live here enjoy this "liquid sunshine"!! :goodvibes

If it's any consolation, my DB & DSil are here and it has rained every day since they arrived last Wednesday. It doesn't stop them, and it shouldn't stop you, either! :thumbsup2 I only hope they don't cancel any fireworks tonite due to the rain. Maybe it'll be gone by then.

Do what the OP suggested - grab some ponchos and GO!! The parks are less crowded when it's raining!! :yay:

Some of my best WDW memories are of being there with my parents in the pouring rain! We threw on some ponchos and walked on just about everything. :thumbsup2

It's warm - don't let a little water ruin your good time. Just resign yourselves to being wet - wear appropriate shoes (Crocs are great for rainy days) and have fun!

Well said Deb, we certainly need the rain. We will get there on thur and hopefully we will have had plenty of rain by then. But if not won't be first time i have been there and it rained.

I remember a 4th of July (a very crowded 4th i might add) and it rained all day at EPCOT. Our feet were soaked and as we entered each country to watch the movies we were freezing. Believe it or not-i haven't forgotten as you can read the memory.:goodvibes

My pool, planets, lawn and checkbook :yay:(-since I'm watering like crazy) are REALLY loving this rain along with the 20 degree temperature difference.

Yes, we do need the rain and this is the start of the rainy season, BUT NOT ALL DAY LONG:banana::banana::banana:. Got rained on in Feb. for a day and half and just didn't feel like go through that soggy, damp, wet adventure again. Biggest thing for me was pulling the popup on wet and ponded roads. CHICKEN....CHICKEN....but rather be safe than sorry.

Think I will head over tomorrow even though the forecast is for rain in the AM and PM. It's my special day though and I want my gift card. :thumbsup2
Also would like breakfast at Trail's End and a sticky bun. Yea, that sounds like a plan. Will dry out at home in the afternoon. :laundy:.

I'd like to checkout loop 600 too. Then I can spend my $$$$ on goodies at Meadows TP. Hey, this is getting better all the time........:dance3::dance3:.

The Weather Chanel 10 day forcast says it is going to rain through next Wednesday so it looks like we are going to get wet:cool1:

We do need the rain but I will be more than happy to have the sun shining again! I hope it does dry out for the weekend- but even if its a wash out we'll have a blast! Its better to get washed out at the Fort than at home!:thumbsup2

Hey....we had our MDGG in the rain last year & it didn't dampen (pardon the pun) the spirit of the pah-tee!!! We also had rain at the LDGG and again...didn't dampen the fun!!

WE ARE CAMPERS, FOLKS!!! Nothing stops our fun....our beer....our kungaloosh....our food....the frivolity....the tree of shame (although Ami's mascera did run just a little and Al's hair got a little mussed up)....NOTHING stops us!!!

Crocs that are a little bit worn are slippery on wet pavement - trust me - I know! :lmao:
Seriously, the parks are really empty on rainy days. Go and take advantage of that!

Now if that isn't a rallying cry, I don't know what is!!:banana::banana:

Ooh - good to know! :thumbsup2

Watch out Fort Wilderness... the Fiends are coming rain or not :banana::banana:

Taz was suggesting canceling if it was going to be lousy weather- I told him just to bring more beer! :rotfl2:

I'll probably break down and bring the Xbox for the boys too... too bad we havent gotten the inflatable movie screen yet- I could have brought the Wii and had a blast under the Ez-ups :rotfl2:

Anyone up for a Rock Band contest? :lmao:

That has been the solution to every "rained out" camping trip I've ever been on. :thumbsup2

Have fun!!

You want to talk about rain. We were there last August when tropical storm Fay came blowing through. It rained and rained and we had a great time. Once you give into the concept that you will be wet, it makes you take advantage of the lack of crowds.

That's the spirit!!! :thumbsup2

What happens to the activities that are normally at the Meadows when it rains? Do they do anything else somewhere else for kids?

I remember reading that if the campfire gets rained out that they have a sing a long on the porch somewhere. But is there anything during the day?

The beer and theme parks in the rain sound great to me. Any suggestions though for a 6 and 8 year old? (We do not have theme park tickets, and I don't think they like beer.) I was thinking I will bring a few movies that we could watch on my laptop sitting under the First Up, and maybe some craft supplies. Any other suggestions like other places to go/things to do that don't cost an arm and a leg?

I'm bringing along movies and their Xbox to keep them occupied- though if its that bad, I'll also take them over to DD and let them play at the Lego store and stuff like that... Odds are, we'll just bring toys and play in the rain... but we do have park passes, so I may just let them wear ponchos and hit the parks too... I'm just looking forward to getting away from reality for a few days...

I saw a site over in the 2000 loop when we were there a few weeks ago that had a huge tarp up over almost the entire site- I might try to do something like that if it is supposed to be nonstop rain- at least that way we can sit outside and stay somewhat dry. I know Taz will have one of the Ez-ups accupied as his GC garage so his baby doesnt get too wet :rotfl2: So that would leave one for over the table and the awning to the camper... but I have an enormous tarp we used when tent camping in the rain- so I might try to get that up to cover more areas outside so we arent limited to the camper....:confused3

Though as I am looking at the forecasts for this weekend- I'm thinking lotsa beer, ponchos and crocs and it'll all be good:dance3:- soggy but good... at least I wont have to worry about gettig sun poisoning again :lmao:
