I'll put a short answer here. Longer answer on your other thread.
We never had a long trip while he was still in dipes. But two one-day trips to Disneyland, and we CDd and it was fine. We were staying at my brother's place so we did wash while on a long vacation and it was very easy. I got permission ahead of time to use his washer (helps that he and I were both CDd and he knows it), and I'm quite sure he appreciated that more than using his garbage!
(he and SIL are blissfully child-free, by the way)
After DS's first 43 hours, other than a few disposable swim dipes when at a public pool when I wasn't sure of their rules, he's never had a disposable on his bum. And we've traveled somewhere a few times a year, since he's been here.
