Future World Era Test Track?

Funny thing about Nascar, it's about as futuristic as one can accuratly get. Car racing is in essence the place where the newest technology is used. A huge leap over the once modern styling used in TT.

:lmao: sorry, NASCAR being futuristic??

Most technology in modern cars doesn't come from NASCAR at all.

Formula 1 however, yes.

Sure F1 and Stock Car racing is far different. But each are sports that depend on technology to push the envelope.

If anyone else has ever sat in a stock car let me know. I have personally been on a racing team so I understand this from first hand knowlege.

Hence why I stated that NASCAR is a lot closer to the future than the car bodies used for Test Track.

No offense but this is a terrible Idea how does Cars fit in Future World?? It's the same reason why Nemo was a terrible choice. Characters that don't have futuristic stories do not belong in FW.

I totally disagree about Nemo and the Seas...first off I've already said that Future World is really a misnomer...but they'd never get tourists to show up to "Science World" which is what it really is - and always has been.

As far as Nemo, I can only comment on my family. My daughter was completely fascinated by Nemo (the movie) early on, and while she doesn't watch it any more, The Seas is her very favorite place. Outside of Disney visits, she is very much into the natural environment, but in particular ocean animals (whales, sharks, fish, penguins). I don't know where her future lies, but if having Nemo in the Living Seas brings children into interest in the Oceanographic sciences, then it is an effective linking of the character and the pavillion.

Now, that said, I don't think the "Cars" characters should be linked into Test Track in anymore than a very loose relation. (They are already very present in the Test Track store.) I don't think you NEED those characters when it comes to cars...many kids (and adults) are simply into cars (motors) and I don't think you need that link to bring people in.

Though, for those of you that aren't aware, the "Carsland" ride vehicles/track out in DCA uses the same system at TT.

I don't have a problem with Nemo at "The Living Seas." Seems like a natural fit. And when they debuted the tech at Turtle Talk, that was pretty futuristic to me.

Nemo is a terrible fit great little Cticket rude but it us completely out of place. FW is supposed to be Entertaining as well as educational. The ride teaches nothing beyond it's a big blue world. It was the cheap way out and TDO loves doing that.

Right now FW is in the worst state it has ever been the only things that belong are as follows.

100% EC attractions

Living with the Land
JII even though it is terrible
UOE
SSE
Inoventions

Soarin while great attraction teaches nothin about theland
TT has nothin Futuristic
MS teachs nothing.

Soarin while great attraction teaches nothin about the land

Have you ever looked at numbers on the agricultural output of California? It's very large. So maybe Soarin only needs to be adjusted so you can smell, rice, grapes, walnuts and strawberries to be a perfect fit in the land.

I think I'm missing you point?

I like Soarin it's a nice ride I think it would have fit betterin WS with a world theme and film.

Actually, I guess I would agree that it might fit better in the America pavillion as "Soarin' over America", but assuming they were NOT going to make a new movie (which they obviously weren't because they didn't), I can't really think of a particularly better fit for Soarin' than "the Land". It certainly doesn't fit well in any of the other parks.

Again, anything with cars or Cars does not to me exemplify what Future World is about. I think there is a bit of learning involved with the concept, but it is nothing about progress and the future of transportation, it is about what is current. They may be trying to "sell" us on the idea of their future brands or products, but that is nothing about the future of transportation as a whole, which I felt like the concept of World of Motion captured perfectly.

I keep waiting for the speedway at MK to be converted to "cars" theme-- could those cars be more tired and smelly? My kids call it "stinky cars"

California may not be an agricultural state because it has other sectors which are huge. But by dollars it produces more agricultural products than any other state by almost three times.

If Soarin only showed Californian farming it would only be featuring something in line with "The Land" and a big part of California.

That wouldn't be enough IMO to just show it does not teach anything.

The one thing I think that Soarin' does teach is how to appreciate the land. It is not explicit in what it teaches, but it does apply to the senses (which is what Imagination is about at Epcot) and teaches us how to appreciate the beauty of the Land. In that way, even though it may be a bit of stretch and no one explicitly knows they are being "taught" per se, it is subliminal and coincides with the themes of the boat ride and the former Lion King environmental show, IMO. Therefore, I can see how it fits within the Land at FW.
