I don't know the difference---is one better?

We are looking at hitting MK at opening---riding a few of the biggies and getting some fast passes for later, heading to Epcot around noon---then staying at Epcot until around 7---and heading back to MK for the evening.

Is that a workable plan?

World Showcase is located around the water and is just what it says - a world showcase. There are numerous countries represented with restaurants, shops, rides, videos, cultural shows etc. (Mexico, Norway, China, Germay, Italy, USA, Japan, Morocco, France, UK, Canada) Future World is the other "half" of the park, including Test Track, Mission Space, The Land, Living Seas, Imagination etc. They are both wonderful areas and Epcot is a great park. I think the only problem with your plan is that you will probably not be able to everything you want to at either park due to time constraints. However, it just gives you an excuse to go back another time. MK and Epcot are DH and my favorite 2 parks. Do what you can, and have a great time!

You don't mention the ages in your party...that would help us determine how to best 'guide' or 'advise' you!

Also, what time of the year are you going, how many days will you be in the parks?

Since you can't chose your fast pass return time, your plan might not be workable.

Also, the travel time from MK to Epcot can be over an hour (costing you two hours). Not to mention, it can take a long time to walk from the end of WS to the monorail. I'm sure it can be done but it is much harder to do with small children.

Thanks for all thelp. We will be at the parks Saturday, March 26, Sunday the 27th, and Monday the 28th. Sunday and Monday we will be taking it slow because we are meeting up with my sister-in-law and her kids. Saturday will be our day alone at the park. We are taking my husband's exwife's daughter.........ummm, my stepdaughter's sister??, anyway, we are taking her and she never really gets the opportunity to do anything like this. We will go the MK either Sunday or Monday, and then either MGM or AK the other day. I want her to not miss some of the big stuff at MK---so I thought maybe we could do Space, Splash, and Big Thunder---or get fast passes to them---then head over to Epcot around 11 and stay there until 7 or so---then head back over to the MK for fireworks. I know it will be SO crowded, but do you think that is workable?

We have me and my hubby (25 and 32), my stepdaughter, 11, her sister, 16, and a baby (6 months.) The baby and I will probably sit out much of the rides---but want to be along for company.

Why is the travel time from MK to Epcot over 1 hour? I guess I don't remember it being that far from each other. I thought we took the monorail from MK to Epcot, maybe not, but wow, I don't remember it taking that long. I might do it different this time.

Could easily be an hour from MK to Epcot, just because of the time of year they're going, it's going to be a mad house that weekend. It takes at least 15-20 to walk out of the park, over and up to the monorail where there is sure to be some lines, then the monorail ride itself, getting off, walking over to the entrance going through security and turnstiles. Don't forget bathroom stops, looking in that store "just for a second", oh yeah easily a hour & don't forget the baby, they'll slow you down everytime!

MK & Epcot both require one day each to fully enjoy them, Epcot especially is just huge!! Personally I would pick one and stick with it or if you really must see both, do one in the daytime, then go to the other for the evening but I would recommend against going back and forth between them.

BTW-with it being a peak season you may find when you go back to MK for the fireworks that it's filled to capacity and get turned away. Rare, but could happen depending on crowds.

I forgot you will go through security again, at each park. That could take some time too.
