I am back and forth on what to do.

I am on a waitlist for the BCV for 200 points. I love the resort and the location!!

I could have done the $86.00 SSR promotion but have turned it down.

Now-I keep looking at the photos and reading the boards and think maybe I should have gone with SSR. It looks beautiful and you do get another 12 years.

I possibly could see if my guide would honor the $86.00-but if not-do you see any promotions in the future at SSR- especially with the opening of AKV??

Yes the BC is great, and as time goes on and there are more and more DVC owners it will become much harder for none BC owners to be able to stay there.

I urge you to buy where you want to stay.

Don't make a purchase in 2007 based upon what will happen in 2042.

Heck by 2042 the resorts may be under 10 feet of water from Global warming, the United States may be a 3rd world country, you may hate having to go to WDW for the 128th time.

Chances are that if you do end up keeping your DVC ownership long term, you will be doing add ons anyhow, so the 2042 date will mean nothing. By 2020 you will own at the new resort that is being built inside the 5th WDW park.

Things change that is certain, buy where you want to stay. Don't buy a resort with thoughts that you will use those pts to stay else where, that may or may not work.

Trust me.

When was the last time you saw a BW/BC/VW owner posting a thread wondering if they would be able to get into one of the other larger resorts? There is a reason you haven't seen any threads like that. (or very few at best).

There will be promo's, but I think the $86 price point is long gone.

Good Luck with your decision.:wizard:

First, buy where you want to stay!

Second, by January of next year SSR may be sold out per se. I think from this point forward, the big promo's will be going to AKV.

We love SSR because if we don't do DW one day there is easy access to other Florida attractions. AKV is not near anything. SSR is also great for kids b/c of the community center programs however they do not have an onsite childcare facility like BCV.

We have stayed at both and there is alot of positives each way.

If you are financially solvent then go with BCV or SSR via resale for the best price. Have you thought about buying 2 contracts with points at both?

I would definitely consider doing 2 contracts with one being BCV and the other being either SSR or AKV - or CRV when it starts selling. The plus with this is that you will be able to sell a smaller contract more easily if you need to, and you can switch off staying at different resorts within the 11 month window.

I don't think there is a particular advantage of buying at SSR other than the extra time on the contract... I don't think that you will have problems getting a reservation there, as you would at BCV or even the better rooms at AKL.

We just bought a SSR contract from TTS - my thoughts in buying this is that we have young children and really use our car alot around the resort (we don't use the bus at all) and we really like OKW and SSR where it is much more accessible to your car. BCV, BWV and even VWL are much less car friendly... and as between OKW and SSR, we're talking a difference of $7 a point and 12 years on the contract. That is a big difference - so for that reason we chose SSR.

When we do add ons though, we'll go for AKL (if I can talk my husband into it) and CRV.
