I know a lot of rides/areas are closed now for Star Wars Land construction.

Will there be more closures in the future for construction?

Hmmmmm. Difficult to see the future is. :yoda:

The only other possible closure I can foresee is a rebuild of the Western end of Toontown. That area looks shabby as it is, and it may be needed for whatever new barrier they are building.

I suspect they will close BTMRR for short intervals for access to the walkway behind it.

Not really sure they need to close anything else. The only thing currently physically blocked off is the path that goes from Fantasyland behind BTMRR that comes out by the riverboat loading. That should be sufficient to do whatever construction they are doing back there without closing the ride. The river is being dammed on each side to allow for water to still be in New Orleans Sq. The trains are stopped at each station so you can check them out and they don't need to be blocked off. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I guess I just don't think the train, canoes and Pirate's Lair are "a lot". Maybe I'm an optimist :)

I'm not good at keeping up with the current developments, so I'm not sure if they've finalized a layout for the land or if we only have speculation at this point, but if there are going to be any alternate paths/entrances to SWL other than behind BTMRR, I expect they'll have to block off the general area at some point to construct the those entrances. But off the top of my head, I can't think of any rides that would be affected by that, and it probably wouldn't be for a while.

I also don't think a lot is closed now, but I guess it seems like a lot when you list it out or if you have a nostalgic attachment to one of the close rides. I was concerned about the river being drained because it would impact such a big area of the park, but since they managed to avoid that for the time being, I'm pleasantly surprised by the low impact of this construction.

I'm just hoping whole lands won't be closed on our 2017 visit. (That's how things were for us in 2015.)
