Hi
Am I right in thinking that you can order fries and/or chicken nuggets at any Disney restaurant, even if not on the menu?
Travelling with very fussy kids, and a couple of places we've got booked don't have stuff that they'll eat. I remember getting fries for them at 'Ohana previously.
Thanks

I would never think to ask a restaurant to do this, but especially not in the current staffing / limited menu environment. If they don't have it on the menu, I wouldn't expect them to have it in the kitchen or be able to make it.

If your kiddo only eats nuggets and fries, I'd either change my reservations to accommodate their wishes or else feed them at a quick service before you eat and make sure to take something for them to keep busy with while you eat.

Also note that most restaurants have seriously cut back menu items, probably due to costs, so you may want to verify your options before you go.

Most restaurants have some options like that, but not every one has chicken tenders and fries available.

"Not on the menu...." should mean the kitchen has none.

Assume nothing.

You should be able to view both 'adult' and 'children' menus on-line. The on-line menus are not necessarily identical to actual menus, however, do not assume an item will be available if it is not on the menu.

Disney is very accommodating, but a kitchen cannot make food it does not have.

Assume nothing.

I would not assume that. 'Ohana is an example of a restaurant where it is easy to do that since they are next door to Kona Cafe.

OK, apologies. Was pretty sure I'd heard it in the past, must have been wrong.
I have seen the menus, but we just wanted to be able to eat somewhere nice for the atmosphere for a change. It would be Be Our Guest and Coral Reef.

It's not likely you would get "CS type" chicken nuggets and fries at either place.

I would suggest booking some of the nicer places that already do have the items on the children's menu. There are some places that meet your needs for a nicer atmosphere.

Be Our Guest has Chicken Strips on the Allergy Friendly Create Your Own Kids Menu:

I do not see fries.

Coral Reef has Grilled Chicken for the kids. I see nothing fried on their menu.

FWIW, we enjoy both Coral Reef & Be Our Guest (BoG) for the atmosphere.

I realize a picky eater can be troubling, but Disney is very good at handling these situations.

Didn't see that at the bottom, thank you!

We're there over Christmas, so it's been a case of what ADRs are available whilst trying to do something special.

If/when you get to the podium at Be Our Guest, ask to be seated in the more intimate West Wing.

You'll be told the approximate wait.

Saw a marriage proposal last time we went.

We have not been back to Coral Reef since menu changes a few years ago. But in general, we preferred the food more than many families. Regardless, we find the uniquely-Disney experience to be worth the stop.

Safe travels!

I totally understand. I have a ridiculous picky kid, too. It never hurts to ask, as long as you don't assume or act like a jerk (I'm sure you don't--but people tend to get all high and mighty on this topic).

What I do is make a list of the food my kid eats (there are maybe 10 things lol) and then look at the menus to make sure they have SOMETHING. I also pack snacks for the rest of the time so they aren't "Starving".

Every restaurant menu I've seen with either have chicken nuggets, basic pasta in red sauce, or uncrustibles/PB and J. If your kids can eat all of those then you shouldn't have a problem. You can also look at getting a side of mac n cheese or potatoes off the adult menu.

I work at Liberty Tree Tavern and Diamond Horseshoe and we can make chicken tenders and fries, it just might take a little extra time though. You could always ask at the restaurant you have a reservation for before you check in and if there’s nothing they can do, if you cancel at the restaurant you don’t get charged the no-show fee.
