Anyone see these? There is a tutorial over on etsy (click). I saw some for sale at Target (click) but, I couldn't bring myself to buy plastic bags, lol. I have a couple of disney bags left over from our trips. Why oh why did I toss most of them. :( Anyway when I get done I will post some pics. Here are some other cute ones I found online: here, here, and here.
Those are just wallet styles but, imagine them in a big bag faaabulous! There are lots of cute bag styles at etsy (non-disney) to give you good ideas about what kind you could make.

so.....who has some bags they'd like to share ;)

OMG..I tried this last night. I have TONS of plastic bags from WalMart, so I figured what better way to experiment.

Firstly...make sure your iron does not have water in it from the last time you used it to steampress your shirt. Mine did and it LEAKED all over the dang place. :(

Secondly..you can use a Ziploc baggie to make a template for a small piece of 'fabric', but don't actually try to fuse the baggie to the other plastics. It will..ah..not go well.

Thirdly--the tutorial is right. PLEASE use freezer paper or silicone baking paper (aka parchment). Regular paper tends to stick, or at least it did with mine. And it was a *bleep* to pull off once it did stick.

I'm going to do some more experimentation with the technique before I actually make anything. I'm thinking of asking a neighbor who regularly has her clothes drycleaned if I can have her old drycleaning bags to experiment with.
I'm also going to experiment with putting a piece of decorative paper between a couple layers (maybe two on one side, and then like six or seven on the other)of plastic before fusing. I have some cute leftover wrapping paper that's not big enough to really wrap anything (except maybe a CD or DVD).

Okay, found the iron...my only advice is definitely check the tempature, those bags shrivel really fast!:rolleyes1 It would have been a really cute Year of a Million Dreams bag!

What did you have yours set on? My iron doesn't really have any guidelines as to temp..it says "cotton" and then there's a red arrow that goes from Min to Max. I had it set on Max, but I think maybe I need to turn it down a notch.

I did some experimenting last night too. Wait...that sounded bad. :rotfl2:

Anyhoo, I think it is better to have more layers. I was doing like 4-6 and it wasn't that good kind of wrinkly. I am not using my couple of WDW bags until I get good at this.

We have bag at our library I may have to make a couple of these for our librarian friends.
