Any comments from teens or parents on this excursion.......

Thanks Patty

Being a parent of 2 teenagers, one whom has done the Bahama, the Eastern and Western Teen cruise, he loved it each time even bettern. My DD went this last cruise as she was old enough to go and by the looks of the video that my DS took, they had a blast. We went to Carlos and Charlie's on the Western while the kids were on their teen cruise. The teens saw a great sunset on the Western Teen excursion too.

My children planned on attending this last september for our eastern cruise but it was cancelled, I believe for security reasons, right after 9/11.

Thanks Patty

i'm a teen and was on the crusie last week and went on the Catamaran it was a blast. its fun cause the teens are out in the middle of the ocean with out any parents with them(besides the counselors who were all really cool). basically once you are out everyone is dancing and listening to music while talking to all the friends they met. i recommend it.

I guess that I'll have to start working my twins early to earn all the money for this fun stuff. Glad to hear that it was enjoyable. I'm sure they'll have a good time.

Did you pre-book these excursions or book once you were on-board?

If your child definitely wants to do this excursion, I would pre-book it. It was totally booked by the time we got on the ship. If they're not sure about it, I would wait and I'll tell you why.

My son was 13 on our last cruise and was booked to go on the Teen Fury Catamaran in Cozumel. He didn't want us to pre-book it because he wanted to wait and see if his new friends (that he'd be meeting on board) were going. Turns out that none of his friends were booked for this cruise. It's a "Catch 22", if you wait to see if your new friends are going, you might not be able to go if the excursion is totally booked!

We encouraged him to try it out anyways even though his buddies wouldn't be there, but once we saw him upset and sitting all by himself with all of these older teens around him, we pulled him out and told him he didn't have to go if he didn't want to. I know ... that was money thrown to the wind! However, we didn't want to pay for our son to be miserable for 2 1/2 hrs. either.

In my opinion, DCL should split up the teen activities for middle school kids and high school kids. It's too much of an age span to be thrown together like that (13 yrs. old - 17 yrs. old). You don't see middle schoolers going to high school dances .... so why should they be expected to interact in this way on a cruise?

My son went last week as well and the feedback we got was "it was awesome!". So I guess it was good.

My brother and brother-in law did the Fury snorkel earlier that day and said the boat crew were real "partiers". And, when I walked by the Fury on my way to shop around 5:00 pm they were setting out bowls of chips and bottles of soda for the kids.

Hope that help!

last week there was still openings for the catameran but the othe teen thing wildside on castaway cay was totally booked. i didn't do wildside and had a blast on the island with some friends and 2 of the counselors.

like one person said about the friends going on the catameran i was a lil wearly that none of my new friends would go on it but it turns out most were on it and there were alot of other kids who had gone on there own to that i met.

i think the Catameran was one of my favorite things on the whole cruise just cause it was different and one huge party that everyone enjoyed.

I think that I will sign my twins up in advance for this...... I have a boy and a girl.... so I guess if worse comes to worse, they can party together.........

Hey Patty, hopefully they have made friends with my DS and the others in our thread. See you in 12 weeks.

My DD14 and her friend also went on the Teen cruise last week. They had a blast as well.... any of you teens on the 8/3 Magic meet up with Allie and Ashley from NY/NJ?

I booked the two of them on the morning of the excursion. Shore excursion desk was not opened yet so I went to Guest Service and they signed the girls up with no problem.

They said the counselors were great that accompanied them.

yeah the counselors were great who went with us it was shannon, Bryan and Greg and then some random lifeguard who knows

the person who talked about signing up the twins me and my twin were both signed up and to be totally honest we did nothing together and he skipped the catameran while i went on and had a blast with out him.

mmouse37 i don't think i met them then again i may not know there names and may know there faces.

anyways have fun everyone going in the coming weeks/months
