Finally bought a dining room table/chairs... here it is, one leaf is out... I'm thinking about a buffet, either on the wall (to the far left) or getting 2 - one on either side of the large window - then I would buy a HUGE mirror - almost covers the entire wall you see to the left. My thinking is, there is less room (if the other leaf is in the table) at the wall end than on the sides of the windows.

I have 57.5 inches on each side of the window, with 44 inches between the wall and table on those sides, and the solid wall is 140 inches across and 45 inches from the table edgfe (not including the 12 inch leaf and chair space) I still have 57 inches from the other edge of the table to the french doors on the wall. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm looking at a couple of buffets so far - thinking about this one ... not the hutch part, just the buffet

It's 54 inches wide, 18 deep.

Also this one, it's in by Bernhardt, Martha Stewart collection - currently listed by a NC furniture store on ebay...it's 72.5 wide and 20.5 deep...

I know I'm all over the map on this - thanks for advice!

I think something at the end of the room would make it look too cluttered and it would eliminate ever extending the table. Looking at your picture, if you put a buffet at the end of the table, it would be about as wide as 2 rows of squares on your floor or a bit more. If someone is sitting in that chair without the leaf, they will either be backing up against the buffet or squeesed up against the table. Two smaller sideboards/buffets on either side of the window would be the way I would go but even that will clutter up the room quite a bit.

I would try something along this line, but obviously something to go with your set:

You will never be sorry if you get 2 buffets.
I just love them. They give you storage & when you are entertaining you have places for food & beverages. When I entertain I try to have everything out in areas. I have a buffet for deserts only. 1 near my refrigerator(automatic Ice machine) for my bar, beer in refridge. I serve appetizers on my island & use my long kitchen counter for a dinner buffet.

If you did ever move they are so versatile you can use them in any room.

I think I like this one... maybe this to the left of the window and a corner cabinet to the right...

My original intent was to put the buffet on the far wall, and it would work, as if we used the extra left we would move the table closer to the door, but the more we think about it, the more I think I like the idea of putting the huge mirror on that wall and utilizing the space on either side of the window for the buffet(s)...

Thanks for your ideas!
