Funny thing I heard while at MGM

WOW! I am absolutely blown away at all the people from this area. Who would have guessed? I am game for a Disboards meet at Salvatore's. Can't thing of anything better--two of my favorite things--Disney and great food/spirits at my favorite restaurant! How many should I make the ressie for?

To Patsal--my daughter is a sophmore at Depew High School and has a teacher who is Disney crazy (as she refers to it). My son graduated last year. You wouldn't be by chance that disney fan who likes the French Bakery and is aware my daughter was there is Sept. and going again in two weeks??? That would be bizarre! If not, there are two teachers at DHS who fit this bill!

I am too from the generation that remembers when magic kingdom was Walt Disney world!!
My first trip was August 22, 1973!! I now remember the date as just recently found some old "A-E" tickets adult and child and the parking stub for parking at WDW!! 30 yrs ago to park at WDW it costs 50 CENTS!!!!

I still to this day call MK WDW!! But what drives me nuts is when people call WDW -Disneyland!!!! People will say where areyou going on your vacation "disneyland and I respond no I am going to Walt Disney WORLD which is in Florida! DL is in california!!
then they say well its the same thing!

Daxx--That's so funny, our first trip my son was 3 1/2. All the commercials we saw for wdw were of the "epcot ball", with the millenium decorations on it. We didn't get there until the third day at wdw, as we drive through the parking lot he says, "Finally, what took so long for you to get me to disney world?

It's amazing how their little minds work! Lots of adults don't "get" what disney world encompasses, try explaining it to a child.

Hey, I was there August 1973 too! I have pics of me with the three little pigs.

We always say we're going to "Disney World" on vacation, not Orlando or Florida. It takes a while for the kids to grasp which park, including Universal, that we're going to. My middle (the coaster queen) just says...are there going to be lots of rides or just shows??

When DH told his mom we were going to WDW she asked if we were staying at WDW he told her yes and told her where we were staying. She asked if it had a monorail, he told her no, so she wants to know what makes it Disney then? . I told him totell her " because it is".

When I was walking through Adventureland in March I overhead this mom saying to her kid, while pointing at Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride... "Oh, look honey, there's Dumbo! Would you like to ride that?"I kept wondering if she thought it was funny that Dumbo didn't have huge ears!!!
