At the Boardwalk last week when my DW and I were on vacation (we are 20 somethings who have no kids), a funny thing happened.
Ok, so we were walking around taking in the sights and pin trading while doing so. We walked up to a CM and he had on a lanyard and a hat full of pins. I struck up a conversation and checked out his pins. He told me the pins on his hat were not for trade. I said okay and ignored them at this point.
Then, he started making fun of adults who pin trade. Talking about how his friend has 8,000 and he even commented that it was a Mercedes.
This is not the first time that a CM have made a snide remark (that was not the only one he made, but perhaps the funniest). It seems there is a chip on their shoulder about adults (not all CM's, just a few) who trade pins. My wife and I don't do it for value, instead we try to find pins of our fav rides or "extras" we have done like resort or a show or something. But even so, if we wanted to do it for the money, so be it, it would be our right (or whatever).
Ok, here is the punchline. As he was chiding us more and more, I just said, "I bet you don't care how many pins I buy when you cash your paycheck."
His jaw dropped and I walked away.
It was too funny. My wife and I laughed hard about that one.
