My impression of the situation, based on what the OP stated, is this:
The CM was not annoyed by the OP calling every hour but honestly was trying to be helpful by saving the OP time from having to call every hour and money (he didn't know the OP had free long distance). The CM apparently has worked in reservations long enough to know when the best chance to get the reservation would be and was passing that information on to the OP. If I worked in reservations, I would have probably told the OP the same thing. Not because I was annoyed that the OP kept calling 1/hr (I doubt it bothers the CMs to speak to the same people over and over since their job is to speak and help people all day) but because I would want to try to help the OP. Providing information for the best time to try to snag a ADR is helpful information.
