I know this isn't FW related but....I am going to the cabins in less then a week. I thought I would share these funny photo's of the first time I was the world.

Whoa....nice shorts on the kid with the bangs....havent seen those since the Richard Simmons show. But Im DIGGIN the Farrah flips!!!

Figment is neat too! I wish I had the energy to start scanning some old pictures! My digital ones only go back about 8 years. :santa: :drive:

I loved the original Figment & The Dreamfinder!! It had such overtones of benign innocence! The new one is "okay"... but not being an Eric Idle fan (although I'm a big fan of Monty Python) I just can't get into the refurbished Figment ride. Some things just need to be left as they are.

I should post some of ours from the same era-- it was the striped top tube socks up to the knees that had me snorting in my photos albums! Looks like we must have all fit in at the time!

Ha Ha! That's what I was going to say! I was looking at a picture of my brother taken in the 80's the other day and he had on the Richard Simmons (although not silky :scared: ) shorts and tube socks going all the way up to his knee caps. The worst thing about that set-up was the goofy tan-line.

Skyw, where did you guys stay for that trip? I think in 83 it was still just the monorail resorts and FW, wasn't it? I've only seen the original figment ride once and Dreamfinder and his bicycle contraption and the song have always reminded me of Willie Wonka (I think their outfits are even similar) and his song about imagination (come with me, and you'll be, in a world of pure imagination).

We stayed off site. It was a band trip. It was the first time I was in FL. WE played at MK and then we got to visit Epcot. It wasn't all that great then. But I did enjoy the journey into the imagination. The rest was a snore. Thank goodness they have made that place better.

The rest was a snore.....
My first trip was in 82, yes my goofball socks were knee high as well, and feathered hair?? Well,....of coarse!!!Epcot was DEFINATELY the park that should have been visited FIRST versus MK, once youve experienced the MK, NOTHING can really compare....especially what was at the time what seemed like an oversized science fair. Granted, it was a pretty nice science fair, but WAAAAY too educationally charged to really keep a teenager from feeling like someone was trying to secretly teach him something!! And I was NOT about to learn ANYTHING on VACATION!!!!

Now that I have my own 4 DDs+ 1DGS, We, as a rule...NEVER go to MK first. Even though Epcot has indeed gotten alot better, its alot more enjoyable when the little kids dont HAVE to compare it to the magic of MK.

Hahha! I love it!! So awesome that you got a picture with the old figment and dreamfinder!

:-) Love 80's disney pictures!
