Funny Moment with MS

This made me laugh.

I phoned MS a couple of days ago to make a booking for some of my points that I'm renting. I spelled the last name (this is not the real name, but the last letter is important) so sounding like: veee- a- el - deee - eeee - zed (Valdez). I then went onto My Disney Reservation to check the booking and couldn't find it. I phoned back to doublecheck and was told it was there and all fine.

I kept checking the website but no sign! Finally the email confirmation came through and there it was, all booked under: Valdezed!

Clearly I need to pronouce my letter "z" as "zeee" in future. I phoned again to fix it and got a lovely MS guy who had been born in England to British parents so he "got" the mistake as soon as I started my story and fixed it for me.

Our address contains the word 'Braes' we have had some wonderfully inventive spellings of that one

That's funny. Good thing you double checked it or it wouldnt have matched their license

I have found that some of the CM's with accents tend to get names wrong.

I tried to correct a miss spelling and made the mistake of saying "M like Mary".

When I got the confirmation, you guessed it, the last name was changed to "Mary".

I'm not a native english speaker, but my english isn't too bad, if I do say so myself... Anyway, my family name is Benz, and I prefer to use the british english spelling of Z, as zed. Whenever I use Zee, they end up writing my name "Benc" I just can't figure out the difference between Cee and Zee.

So now I just say "Benz, like in Mercedes", that usually works, but one time my name then became "Bens"

I had one of those moments too. My nephew is Jakob but they spelled it Jacob. I called back and said "its Jakob with a k". Well you guessed it. They changed it to Kakob. At least it made me laugh.

On my most recent reservation I was giving the names of my family to the CM (was one of the new Japanese speakers) - went to add my 4 year old called Chloe well when the email came through it had her as an adult called Ho!
