The NYP says they are close to the same price as before, with name brand turkeys down 2% and store brand up 5%, but the Finance Buzz article says turkey prices are down 12%. It probably depends a lot on where you live. I think I paid about the same as last year, but got a couple of pounds of extra turkey for the price (22 vs 24 pounds). Unfortunately any savings with the turkey will probably be offset by increases in the other items. I have been buying non perishable items when they went on sale the last couple of months to help with the cost.

OK so have we cleared up that different parts of the US may have different experiences?

Not sure of the goal though.... is it to say that some feel if a circumstance is a way in one place it can't possibly be true somewhere else? If so, duly noted & much appreciated.

I like how Shop Rite has about 7 or 8 choices for a free or discounted item. This year I noticed they added Dolly Parton family size frozen mac & cheese.
