I have a spot of eczema on my hand. A coworker of mine saw me scratching my hand. I'd never heard of this particular old wives tale until she started insisting that I was going to get money. She said it always works for her. I'm sure the old wives tale has some fine print about being void if the itch is caused by a skin condition.

I was taught that one hand itching meant you were getting money, and the other hand itching meant you would be losing/paying money out. I can’t remember for sure which hand is which, but I think it was right hand get money, left hand lose money.

That's probably right because the left hand has always been viewed as "less than" the right hand. Unfortunately my eczema is on my left hand.

It's not even a conscious thing. So many time as a kid I took a swig of my sister's Dr. Pepper when she would ask me to hold it when we were at the mall and I HATE Dr. Pepper.

Someday I have to go back and re-read all 239 pages. Most of the first dozen pages are from the early days of the pandemic and I want to see again what was meme-worthy back then.

Yeah, it kind of started out with memes about the pandemic and later evolved into a general thread to share laughs with whoever might like them.

So happy I made this thread! Very glad it has evolved into a daily laugh about everything.

I almost didn’t, but I remember wanting to lighten the mood when everything back then on page 1 of community boards was stress, fear, and confusion with COVID.
