I agree with most of that, except the time when it "feels like" a season has started partly depends on the climate of the area where you live. For some regions, the official start of the season is ahead of when the weather "feels like" that season.

That was kinda my point. It was that we humans decided that there was an equinox or solstice, the earth didn't come with instruction. We are the ones that decided to set it up with those paramotors. But they don't really always match up with what is happening. For example, in the south there is very little difference between summer and fall in the start of it. So, like foot soldiers, we still close pools on Labor day and don't open them until Memorial day. It is still summer for a long time until really cooler weather shows and hot long before summer is declared. Even at worse in the south Winter is equivalent to Fall, temperature wise. It is just the time that science decided was a good spot to make the change in equal proportions. Having lived the vast majority of my life in four season areas, I can tell you that in the south there is early summer, mid summer, and late summer. That is followed by Fall which like the Fall in the northern states and does have an occasional visitation by freezing temperatures and snow but not all that often or extreme. Four seasons still, but much different by definition.
