It's not overthinking when if you get it wrong, you know you'll have to go through 85 more of those stupid things.

I remember being grossed out by these too. Especially when the cloth was at the end. It was dirty and soggy and the only alternative was to wipe your hands on your clothes.

Then they replaced them with air dryers and you still have to wipe your hands on your clothes. Except for the super powerful ones. Those blow all the water and a layer of skin back onto your clothes for you.
