I managed to score an 8am ADR for Akershus so my girls could meet Anna and Elsa without a huge wait. (By the way before I get flamed my ressie was for a party of 6 and we all attended the breakfast.) My family arrived at the gate around 7:15 so that we would be one of the first parties seated in the restaurant. One lady was in front of us and said she had been there since 6:00am, not sure why??? When they went to check names at the gate she quickly begins to explain that she has had trouble with her ADR's and she probably wasn't on the list because she just made the ressie the night before. Her name wasn't on the list but after consulting several people, they let her in any way because she was a party of 1. I told my husband to go on and check us in at Akershus and my 14 year old and I would get the young kids scanned at the gate.
So my husband and this lady walk into the park together and they are chatting when all of a sudden this pooh-sized dad (I am pooh-sized myself so no offense meant here) with a double stroller breaks into a run. This double stroller is rocking back and forth on its wheels with two kids inside. As soon as this guy passes my husband and the lady, she takes off after him. My husband looks back at me as if to say what are they doing. I just shrugged by shoulders. My 14 year old starts laughing and asks me why they are running. I told him I guess they want to be first in line to see anna and elsa. This sweet boy who knows how much his 2 little sisters want to meet anna and elsa asks me if I would like him to go catch them. He said that he could beat them easily. I said no thanks we were all going to have breakfast first any way.
Later after we were seated, my husband said these 2 raced all the way to the line. When one stopped, the other stopped, but started running again as soon as the other passed them. He said that poor stroller was rocking back and forth the whole way. Neither checked-in for their ADR. The funniest party of the story is that the lady ended up beating the dad with the stroller and was first in line for Anna/Elsa but since the rest of her party couldn't enter the gates until rope drop she had to let 3 families go ahead of her to wait for her family to get there. So she ran all that way for nothing. By family and I laughed about this craziness all through our breakfast with the princesses. As we were waiting in line, the mom in front of me who also ate with an ADR said she rode the bus over with this dad and his 2 girls. She said she kept wandering why he was feeding his girls a breakfast of granola bars on the bus when they had breakfast scheduled at Akershus.
Later, we all got to witness the dad fun run. Everyone clapped when the first dad arrived in the line. A guy at the gate even asked a cm where to go to wait for the Anna /elsa fun run. She had no idea what he was talking about. Complete craziness. We have visited disney 7 times in the last 12 years and have never seen any thing like this. FYI we all got to eat breakfast, and still only waited 20 minutes to meet anna and elsa.

I think things have gotten a lot worse, too. I'm just waiting for the headlines that something bad happens amidst all of this chaos--like a poor kid being stampeded over or something.
) and at that time the girls didn't even start meeting until 11am, and I saw them at 11:27. A few people I met in line had eaten at Arkeshus that morning, but no rushed meals or skipped breakfasts and eaten cancellation fees. People just ate and then got in line when they were ready. But now, it's like an Olympic event. And it's funny that it's worse now in April than it was in December and January!!
