Meanwhile I already told my sister if the rumored 10k theme is true my brother in law needs to come out of RunDisney retirement
Not every race will appeal to everyone, I suppose!

yeah that definitely has the possibility of being a giant cluster _____. They don't run the 5k on any roads that would need closing, so that's not an issue. But given that they are saying the start will happen over a THREE HOUR PERIOD makes me think that capacity may be absolutely through the roof.I’m most intrigued about what the bussing/pre race staging situation will look like for the 5k
There will have to be a delayed open in Epcot Friday morning I say this as someone who was in a long character line in 2023 around mile 2 and they kept announcing the character would be done at 715 …in 2026 last runners wouldn’t have even started by thenyeah that definitely has the possibility of being a giant cluster _____. The first group of runners for the 2026 Disney Wine & Dine 5K will start at 4:30am, 30 minutes earlier than before. Participants’ start times will range from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., based on assigned start groups. Arrival times will vary depending on your start time.
We ended up at MK the day of a Halloween party with a 3 year old in October of 2024 and it was great for her as the lines were really low.
In the afternoon they didn't even make us get off Dumbo as there was no line at all, was able to ride over and over again.
Only real problem we had was just before we left people with costumes started showing up for the party, and there was some one I a good Jasmine one, she was upset she couldn't go talk to Jasmine like she had in EPCOT the day before.
The 5k doesn’t require road closures. I’m assuming driving will still be okay too. And yes, the logistics are a recipe for total chaos.Copy and pasting the blurb about the start time here for those that don't want to go look:
I'm really curious how this will work. I'm guessing athletes that start at 4:30 will likely have to walk back to the bus drop off area to get on a bus back to the resorts. I'm assuming start groups will continue to be by estimated pace, do we think some people might put a slower pace to hopefully not have to get there as early?
Once again I can't help but feel like with anything else runDisney, this first weekend will be a complete disaster.
Oh and I really like the 10k theme. But I cannot justify another trip this year unfortunately.
I thought they would expand the start window but my guess was that it would result some starts at 6:30. This is a huge window, which could mean quicker photo op lines for everyone, but also that they probably have to push a 16 min pace.Did anyone else notice the 5k start times will range from 430am to 730am? They weren’t kidding when they said they were adding more entries.
No, but the way it works now the return buses don't start running until the last wave has started and passed that area. Which is why I'm betting the return buses will leave from the Epcot bus loop, and not from where they usually leave from. The 5k doesn’t require road closures.
