She was doing an online survey for kids and it was asking about finance.

She has some money in savings and it asked what she was saving for and it listed about 20 things - college, car, movies, toys, games, video games, food, vacation, etc. She selected "other" and put in emergency.

What 7 yr old has an emergency fund LMAO! :rotfl2:

I asked her what she would consider a money emergency and she said "well, let's say the bus is driving us home from school and it runs out of gas".

She is a bright kid but didn't see that coming

Soooo cute! :goodvibes

My eight year old daughter has decided that she is saving her money to pay for her Wedding Dress!!! She has about $100 saved so far. I think she has watched too many episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress". Those prices ARE high, so this might be a good idea. :rotfl:

When my DS6 was making up his Christmas list he told me that he was going to save me a lot of money. When I asked how he said that he was going to ask Santa for all of the expensive Lego sets!

I'm 19. I started saving about 5 years ago for my wedding. I want to get married at Disney World. and... it's expensive. so.. haha I started saving. It's pitiful the small amount I have (like 600 dollars) but college is killing my budget.

I think it's so cute that she has an emergency fund! :)

Bus runs out of gas? Love it! Cute kid.

This reminds me of my grandma (now 97). My grandma never drove, so she took buses a lot. She did a lot of bus tours, and would also visit one of my aunts in a different state, by bus.

My grandma always had a bunch of maps with her...just in case the buse driver got lost!

I to saved as a child for my wedding dress. Actually wore my sister's dress forty two years ago. The dress money paid my doctor bill when our first dd was born 3yrs later.:bride:

For my DD, her "emergency fund" would be gone as soon as her iTune card was depleted! I am seriously hoping she gets better as she ages.

or when she saw a pair of earrings she just HAS to have - or I won't pay for ice cream!! ;)

My son knows he has $300 from birthday money for the bank and keeps insisting that a wise investment would be the $400 Star Wars Death Star.....I WISH he'd want to save it, but it's all lego, lego, lego for him. (No, he's not buying the Death Star.)

That's so cute!

My sons will now always ask if I have a coupon for something before they ask if they can buy it. I took my 3 year old shopping the other day and he went around and collected coupons from all the blinkie things. He said he was starting his own collection so he could help me buy food.
