Background: A few years ago DH and I and our teens went to an info meeting about the Service Academies. Representatives from each academy got up and gave a spiel. The Coast Guard Academy person repeated over and over and OVER that you don't need a congressional appointment for the CGA. It became kind of a family joke after that.
Anyway, I had a medical test today, and was put under. After I was out, DH and the nurse were chatting about how one of her sons had applied at the CGA. And I, in my sleep, said, "You don't need a congressional appointment for the Coast Guard Academy!"
I have absolutely no recollection of this at all, but apparently my brain was alert enough to understand their conversation and bring up that important tidbit of information!
(BTW, it turns out I have a teeny tiny hole in my heart. It's called a PFO, which has been linked to chronic migraines. It can be fixed by going through a vein in the leg, in an outpatient procedure. Isn't modern technology amazing?)

Makes me laugh. The only thing I remember from my multiple anesthesia experiences was from the first time when I was five. I could swear to god that the doctors were singing me a doo-wop song. Now keep in mind, being 5 I didn't know what doo-wop was, only figured out that's what it was later. Someone suggested that maybe they were playing doo-wop in the operating room when I was coming out of it.
