Funniest scene in a movie?

The Nutty Professor - when I saw the dinner scene ("My little Hercules!") for the first time, I laughed so hard I literally could not breath!

Space Balls - ditto for the Alien/"Michigan J Frog" spoof scene.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - The cat electrocution scene.

National Lampoon's Vacation - The demise of "Dinky". In the "making of" documentary of the film, they talk about how it took forever to shoot that scene because neither Chevy Chase or the actor that played the cop could keep a straight face!

This Is Spinal Tap--the entire movie is hilarious, but one of my favorites is the scene where they visit Elvis' grave and sing Heartbreak Hotel.:lmao:

Have you watched this with the commentary? The commentary where they are in character?!! Oh my gosh, it's as funny as the movie itself. Whenever I watch this now I have the hardest time deciding if I want to watch it with or without the commentary, and I usually decide to watch with it. You're right, you can't really choose just one scene - they ALL are hilarious. One of my personal favorites is the "getting lost backstage" scene! :rotfl:

Excellent choices! Christmas Vacation is probably one of my top five favorite comedies. And I read somewhere that someone, can't remember if it was John Hughes or Chevy Chase, was surprised by the amount of people who approached them after Vacation came out to tell them that the 'Dinky' scene had actually happened to them!! Don't know if that's funny or just sad! :rotfl2:

I can watch this movie over and over and this parts still makes me laugh till I cry.

Bruce Almighty

Evan: In other news, the Prime Minister of Sweden visited Washington today, and my tiny little nipples went to France.

Director: What did he just say? Check the prompter.

Technician: The prompter's fine.

Director: Evan, read the copy. Please, the copy's good, just... read it.

Evan: The White House Reception Committee greeted the Prime rib roast Minister, and I do the cha-cha like a sissy girl. I "lika"... do... da cha-cha. I'm sorry, we seem to be having some "technical" difficulties...

The other is Uncle Buck - John Candy

[at a meeting with the assistant principal, who's got a big unsightly growth on her face]

Anita: I'm Anita Hoargarth.

Buck Russell: [Staring at it] I'm Buck Melanoma. Moley Russell's wart. Not her wart. Not her wart! I'm... I'm the wart. She's my tumor. My... my growth. My... uh, my pimple. I'm Uncle Wart. Just old Buck "Wart" Russell. That's what they call me, or Melanoma Head. They'll call me that. "Melanoma Head's coming." I'm s... uncle! Maisy Russell's uncle!
:rotfl2:

I am laughing just reading that. That whole scene just cracks me up.

"Those aren't pillows!!"

We just watched Planes, Trains, and Automobiles last night. It's always been one of my favorites.

Airplane
The actress who played Beaver Cleaver's mom, Barbara Billingsley's, "I speak jive" scene was best among many in that stupid funny movie.

True that movie is full of funny scenes.

One we refer to frequently at work when any co-worker gets upset about anything (like the copier jamming)........is the scene where the woman flips out and everyone lines up to "calm" her down.......one by shaking her violent, another with boxing gloves, another with a pipe..........:rotfl2:

Some of my favs are

Arsenic and Old Lace
When the man looking to rent the bedroom almost drinks the poison.

Anchor man
When all the news crews get into the fight

Something about Mary
There are a few in that including the credits
Franks and Beans
and the scenes with Benji to mention a few

Bringing Up Baby
When the dog digs up another shoe
and Catherine Hepburn suggests to not hit the dog with it
Cary Grants answer is my favorite line from any movie

One of the funniest scenes I ever saw was in "Three Men and a Baby". The scene where they are trying to figure out what size diapers and the subsequent diapering attempt. I saw this movie just after having my first baby, and I was rolling on the floor.

Lots of them.

Office Space - All of the Fax Machine scenes

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - Chevy Chase's rant at the end "heartless, hopeless, bug-eyed, spotty lipped, worm-headed..."

9 Months- The entire ending of the movie when they're rushing to the hospital to have the baby

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - The "peril" scene

Airplane 2 - The flight crew discussing their names and positions, Oveur, Unger and Dunn

The "I'll have what she's having" scene from When Harry Met Sally

When King Arthur and his Knights get pelted with live animals at the French castle, then construct a giant wooden rabbit to sneak in. Of course, they forget to get inside the rabbit, and it ends up being flung at them too. "Run away!!!"

The Russian speaking scene in A Fish Called Wanda- John Cleese dancing around naked while Jamie Lee Curtis practically passes out from lust above him. Then when the family shows up, and he covers his bits and pieces with their family portrait- priceless!!

Yes, there are so many classic funny scenes in that film. Probably the best ones are anything said by "Johnny".

Whenever my family is together and some one is reading a newspaper, one of us will blurt out "There's a sale at Penny's!!!"

Bridesmaids ~ the airplane, drunk, druggy scene.

"Helen knows the owner. Eww,pssshh"
"Hello there Grandpa"
"Help me, I'm poor"
"You can't get anywhere in 3 seconds."
"What kind of name is Stove?"
"There's a colonial woman on the wing. There's something they're not telling us!"

Love this long scene on youtube with the high school girl, looking for something for her friend. Should have made it into the movie.
