Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

We were in Disneyland Paris years ago (or EuroDisney as it was then called) and were having a coffee at a fast food place near Main Street when the family next to us started chatting to us - they were Irish too. They had a little girl, about 7 or so. So I said to the little girl "are you having a great time" and she smiled and said yes and I said "isn't the castle beautiful" and before she could respond her Dad said "yes, absolutely the Eifel tower is just beautiful" and then proceeded to giggle along with his wife. I was confused and smiled and said "um, well I meant the castle there, pointing to it" and he said "oh I know". The mother then said to the child to go and put something in the litter bin and whispered to me "we're hoping she'll think it's the Eifel Tower - otherwise when we get home my parents will have a fit if they hear we were in Paris for 3 days and never even saw the Eifel Tower" - rofl!

I have laughed during this entire thread, but this one little statement had me rolling. Thanks for the wonderful chuckle, I think all of us have been in a situation that caused us to say something we wouldn't normally say.

My daughter finally talked me into going on Splash Mountain, now I am a long time Disney "freak" as my DH says, and have ridden Space Mountain, and GTM, but not TOT, nor RNR, and I scream going down the small water fall in POTC...(just a little back story) What she said and I quote was "there is only one drop mom and it is at the very end, the rest is just a really neat ride" So I went on, as we went down aalllllll of the little drops during the rest of the ride I would smack her and she would say "ohhh I forgot about this one" while laughing so hard she was crying. Now whenever we go back to DW, and there is a ride she wants to do, she says, but there is only one drop, and we all start laughing again....I still haven't gone back on Splash Mountain. :rotfl:

these are the funniest things i've "heard" in a while. wanted to add a few of my own.

mine are also more experiences than statements. before i describe them, let me just say that i love my mother very much, but boy can she be a nit-wit sometimes. :goodvibes

1) my mom was in awe of Disney throughout our trip. she was, as others have described, amazed at how real some of Disney's creations look. well, as we're loading into the library to see the video clip at TOT, my mother comments about how real the statue next to the entry looked. she reached out to touch his face - and he blinked. this FREAKED my mother out (since he was of course a real person and not a statue), and she ran in and grabbed ahold of (what she thought was) my arm. she started laughing and snorting and leaned her forehead against (what she thought was) my arm. i'm standing off to the side laughing so hard i can't breathe and trying to pry her hands off of the arm of this complete STRANGER whose upper arm is clenched in my mother's death-giggle-grip. finally my mom looks up, SCREAMS "OHMYGOSH" and lets go and doubles over with laughter and embarrassement. the stranger smiles and says, "I understand. This ride can be scary." my sister kept giggling and trying to say "ssshhhh" at the say time because we were probably ruining the preshow for the other guests, but it just kept coming out at "sss-sss-sss-sss-sss". it was hilarious.

2) as we are boarding TOT, the CM says, "Please be sure to fasten your seatbelts. Hopefully they'll work better for you than they did the previous guests." My mom's eyes get HUGE and she looks at me and says, "The SEATBELTS don't work?!?!?!?" I had to block the aisle to keep her from getting off the ride.

3) After we ride the TOT (during which my good, Christian mother blurted out expletives as we endured the drop sequence), she gets out of her seatbelt, climbs OVER my sister, aunt, and me, and RUNS past the CM, down the hallway, through the giftshop, and outside. The whole time, my sister and I (veteran Disney lovers) are chasing after her half giggling and half worried because we're yelling, "Mom? Mom! Mom, are you okay? Mom, just stop! Stop! MOM! Slow down! MOTHER!" We catch up to her outside, sitting on the stone wall, panting and clutching her purse like she had just been attacked. She looks at us and says,
"That was TERRIBLE.
I think I want to do it again. (in a voice that was like, I must be insane!)"

It was the best day of our trip. We rode it another 6 times that trip. On one of those subsequent rides, a woman was getting on TOT and crying becasue she was so scared. My mother looks at her and says, "Oh it'll be okay. Don't worry. It's really not that scary." Yeah right, Mom!

Say what you want about Disney, but it can at times bring out the profanity in all of us! ;)

Oh, this one has me in tears! :rotfl: Especially the picture of her running all the way out! (Maybe because I nearly ran out of TOT myself this last time!) :rolleyes1

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!

bump
why say the effiel tower is the castle
:)

This isn't as funny as the other posts, but it gave me a giggle. As my DD (4) was riding the carousel, she yelled out, "Yee-Haw!" with the biggest smile on her face. She was just so excited about riding on a "horse" that she couldn't help it.

Many years ago I was in line for Space Mountain at Disneyland. There was a father and daughter in line in front of me. As we came up to the loading area, the father turned to me with a worried look on his face, 'Does this ride have a loop in it?' I burst out laughing, and assured him that there were no loops in the ride.

More recently, I was on the Tower of Terror at DCA. When the first drop came, my hand was suddenly grabbed by the young man sitting next to me. I guess it was his first time on the ride. He seemed a little embarassed, but I thought it was hilarious.

I have been feeling so blue this week...even the DIS wasn't helping.

Until now! I'm laughing so hard, I'm crying! I just read the thread about "You know you've been a DISer too long when..." and now this. OMG! :rotfl: Eifel Tower, running Mom's, profanity galore.

My Mickey Ears are off to the original poster. This has brightened my day beyond belief!! :earsgirl: :sunny:

THANKS!

Okay, I'll add in another to keep this thread going. On our very first trip to Disney with the kids, my oldest was almost 3 (he turned 3 during the trip). We stayed at the All Star Sports. After we checked in, we were walking to our room and he stopped and just stared at the big Coke cups (stairwells), and turned to my husband and said, very seriously, "Daddy, this is good!"

Awww, that's adorable. :goodvibes

These are hilarious! Here's mine:

Dad and I were on line for ToT, right behind some guy. He was an extreme "tough guy", with the bandana, and muscle shirt, and tatoos. So he's like, "I've done this ride. It's easy, watch me pose for the picture," or soemthing like that. So we get on the ride, and as soon as we hit the first drop, I glance over at that guy. Sure enough, there he was, screaming like a little girl. Between him screaming out, "Oh my god! Oh my god! AHHHH!" and the priceless look on his face in the picture, :scared1: I can't help but laugh still thinking about it!

Oh, and I love this one in the Unofficial Guide:
"We rode Snow White's Scary Adventures. My daughter screamed the whole time, and was shot for the day. Grandpa kept asking, "Where in the hell is Snow White?!"

This happened years ago, but it is still vivid in my memory. My teenage son who was then 16 months old, was sitting in his stroller while we were in one of those zigzag llines to see Capt. EO (classic Michael Jackson 3-D laser show) at Disneyland. This chunky boy about 16 or 17 passed by in line and my son blurred out, "Look Mom -- BIG boo boo!" And he also pointed at his butt at the same time! :earseek: The folks in line behind us and in front of us were literally biting their lips to keep from laughing. My DH and I felt so bad for that kid, because he was still standing in line adjacent to us. Anyone could tell he was very embarassed and our DS was too young to realize what he had said and did by pointing. :guilty:

We will never forget it. It is funny now, but it wasn't funny to us then

My mom was getting an eclair from the bakery in France and tried to say thank you in French by saying (in her southern drawl) "Mercy!" We laughed and said, "Uh, Mom, it's merci!"

you reminded me of when I took DS, then 5, now 23, to DL for the very
first time. We had over the course of 3 days, ridden all the rides, seen
all the shows..his favorite--Captain EO, my favorite-space mountain.
(we were single mom/son at the time, BTW) when it gets to the last
2 ish hours I said to DS, okay, we can each choose 1 ride for us to go
on--he says, of course "captain EO!!!!! captain EO!!!! I said, okay, captain
EO it is..my choice is space mountain! we walked through the line, for
him, it was like a death march...the whole time he was saying..."I don't
want to do this..but I have to...over and over...we get on the ride, strap
ourselves in..I have my arms around him so his arms don't go flailing ,
then..... AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH !!!! :earseek: and the
moral of the story is...now his loves it...we laugh about this anytime
anything disney comes up!!
