Where can you get the funnel cakes? Just in MK? If so, where? I love those things and didn't know you could get them at WDW.

how funny! I was just posting about funnel cakes in my post below the highs and lows of our trip!
I too love funnel cakes. the ones at the sleepy hollow near the castle in Magic kingdom on the adventureland side. are very good.
Someone else posted they are available at the American Adventure in Epcot.
Couldn't find them in Animal Kingdom or Mgm, although i didn't ask.

We saw the funnel cake stand at Epcot in the USA section but it was closed. They were selling snow cones, however. In the cold, blowing mist I would have MUCH rather had a funnel cake! I mentioned that to DH. And no, I didn't buy a snow cone! :D

Unfortunately, the funnel cake stand in the American Adventure at Epcot is closed. We were just there from the 8th through the 12th. The first time we went by the stand, it was open, but the very next day there were signs up over the window and the menu board saying "building the future Epcot". The hanging "funnel cakes" sign was still up, however, so perhaps they are just remodeling it? There didn't seem to be any work going on.

Aw man, that's not cool. I loved those funnel cakes. When we were there over the summer it was open. Too bad :worried:

Hi! In May '03 there was a stand at MGM near that big dinosaur. I know because we searched high and low all week for funnel cake and promised the girls some and when we got to the stand before Fantasmic it had already closed!!! You know, I think there was funnel cake at TL, but I'm not sure.
We'll be looking for some at MK in May now that we know where to go!!! :cool1:

Basically, it's fried sweet bread covered in powdered sugar and twisted into a big pretzel looking cake-ish thing.

That's the best way I know how to describe it ::yes::

P.S. They're sooooooo good!

if you've never had a funnel cake, go to sleepy hollow before the spectromagic parade, and eat it while you wait , it is ssooooooo good!
I like mine plain with just powdered sugar, but it also comes with cherry or strawberry topping.

I got a good funnel cake at Blizzard Beach on January 9th--last thing we did before going to the airport to come home. Now I'm scheming like a mad woman how to get back ASAP (and I mean within weeks or short months!).

Thanks to everyone for sharing so much information on these boards!

I saw them in Blizzard Beach just yesterday. :D

Thanks everyone for all the locations.

As for the poster who asked what a funnel cake was, it is kindof like thin pancake mix. They place a round form in the hot oil and dribble the batter inside this ring so it is not a solid form but has holes in it. After a minute or so they take the form off and flip it over. When it is done you can sprinkle lots of powdered sugar over it. If you have ever had beignets, it is the same kind of flavor. Yummy!!!

My wife is gonna pretty peeved when she sees she can't get a funnel cake in Epcot anymore!!!

Disney, I'd seriously :duck: if I were you! You may have crossed the line on this one! ;)

I have never had a funnel cake at Magic Kingdom, but eating one while waiting for Spectromagic does sound like a good idea :)
