I love funnel cakes. I only get them at amusement parks or country fairs. They are so good!!! I always get mine w/powdered sugar on it. But some people get chocolate or fruit on top. It's only really good when it's hot. Afterwards, it gets sort of chewy.
Like the previous poster said it is fried dough usually served with powdered sugar. We get it with strawberries and soft ice cream as well. However, the best funnel cake we have encountered is right here in Canada at Paramount Canadas Wonderland! Sorry Disney.
I know funnel cakes are sold in a couple of different places, do you know if they all have the soft serve ice cream as well? DH doesn't consider it to be a "real" funnel cake without strawberries and ice cream on top!
Mmmm...funnel cakes remind me of fair/carnivals when mom would buy 'em for us I have yet to actually try them at Disney though, although they'd probably even better there
The poster who said it was a little slice of heaven is RIGHT. Best piece of fried anything I have ever had. I love mine with tons of powdered sugar and CINNAMON. Ok, I'm drooling. Glad it's almost State Fair time!
Sort of like Zeppoles only more perfect.
(if not made right, zeppoles tend to be either too greasy, or too doughy on the inside--gotta get 'em in Brooklyn if you've never had one.)
Yummmmyyyyyyyyy....yep, I think Funnel Cakes have about a zillion calories, but with all the walking and sweating one does from the entrance to Epcot back to the America pavilion, I feel it works out about even. Well, I like to think that anyway.
I don't know anywhere else to get them besides American pavilion & Sleepy Hollow. I can't think of anywhere in MGM that sells them, nor Animal Kingdom. Sorry!
