Can anyone tell me what a funnel cake is, i heard you can have stuff like sugar, chocolate, and fruit on them. are they like crepes?

pics please!

Yes there is a little booth by the American Pavilion that sells them. They have different kinds, some just with sugar, and others with fruit and different toppings. Definitely try it!!!

It is basically fried dough.

Don't forget the powdered sugar!

And it is a LOT better than that description makes it sound.

It is basically something where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Have you have ever heard of the beignets at Cafe Du Mond in New Orleans (and since you are from England, there is no reason why you should have)?

Same thing.

It is fabulously tasty and totally not on a healthy diet! That is why the only time we have it is at WDW; it (sadly!!!!:worried: ) has little place in the - sigh...... - real world. Try it, though and you will be in heaven!

It is called a funnel cake because they take yellow cake batter and drizzle it into a deep fryer through a funnel. It is ribbons of fried batter in a circular shape. They then dust it with powdered sugar or top it with fruit (and powdered sugar). They sell them at Epcot and the water parks.

They also sell them at Sleepy Hollow (in liberty square) in MK.

They can be found at street festivals and carnivals everywhere, but IMO they taste much better at WDW! :thumbsup2

love how the powdered sugar "explodes" all over you when you eat a funnel cake dusted in it!
