funeral/appropriate behavior question.

my wife's biological father isn't a person we wan't our daughter raised around. her stepfather assumed his role. details aside, her bio father is going to have a short turnout at his funeral. and he fathered 5 girls. there's nothing wrong with NOT 'paying your respects'. I've blown off aunts and uncles funerals with no problem. I'd rather not see them.

I think it is entirely up to your cousin. However, if you are close to your cousin it would be a very loving gesture if you and your sister offer to go to the funeral with him when the time comes if he decides to go. Being estranged from his father, there probably wouldn't be anyone at the funeral to make your cousin feel welcome or to comfort him. Entering the funeral with his own support system (you and your sister) already in place would make things much easier.
