I think my son's Cub Scout Troop did this y-e-a-r-s ago and I was not too involved (except that we purchased one and it was VERY nice.) It was not a "lot," but a "pre-order and deliver" sale. The only bad thing about it was that you didn't get to see it before it was given to you.

Has anyone ever been involved with a Christmas Tree/Wreath fundraiser? How did it work?

I bought a tree sight unseen from DS's H.S. football fundraiser last year.(no choice in the matter, he had to sell 5) The trees were to be shipped out of Oregon and were to be cut 2 days prior to delivery. They started at $65 for the small ones and went to $110 for the 10'ers.
I ordered a Noble Fir and got some sort of bushy thing (not like any Noble I had ever seen) I was not happy but what does one do. The tree that supposedly had been cut 2 days prior turned into a dried out tinder box of toothpicks within 2 weeks. We usually cut a tree every year and there was no way this tree was as fresh as it was supposed to be.

Fast Forward...........Just got a flyer, the team is hosting the same fundraiser this year. DS is a Senior and his playing days are about over, I think I will be skipping the pre-ordered tree this year.

The shipment came with lots of extra trees which were available for sale at the school for those that did not pre-order.

If this is something you are planning, i would definately get some references from other organizations that have used the same supplier.
