Fun with my 10 year old daughter?

We will be visiting the World the end of October this year for 12 days. It will be our eighth trip since 1995, so we kind of know our way around. What I am looking for is something special to do with my 10 year old daughter. Just her and me (Dad). Does anyone have any suggestions for something we can do for 1/2 of a day together? I am hoping for something other than visiting a park. We will be staying at OKW for part of the trip, 3 days on the Disney Cruise, then 5 days at the Beach Club Villas.

Any suggestions?

why don't you all go to fantasia gardens in the afternoon for a game of mini golf. I have never been but I hear that the theming is amazing.

What about renting water mice for a few hours or hit one of the water parks?

Mini-golf is a good idea. I've never been to Fantasia Gardens but I went to WinterSummerland and that was a blast.

You can go to Dixie Landings (don't remember the new name) and go fishing. Disney Marketplace is nice for shopping and Rainforest cafe. Since you are staying onsite, you can visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

How about a carriage ride at FW? It's only for 30 minutes, but there are lots of other things to do over at FW too. You could make an afternoon out of it and then be joined by the rest of the family for a HDDR dinner.

I always loved being with my Dad alone. We are both only children and we both have always understood each other better than my mother or either of my stepmothers have ever been able to comprehend. I liked just riding around and being lost on the back roads around our hometown and talking for hours or just going fishing. Never think that any time you spend with your daughter is wasted. She might not always seem to enjoy what you are doing together, but the knowledge that you were there for her, will mean the world to her when she's 30. I know that most likely won't be much consolation in 5-7 years when she thinks she knows it all, but have faith. Afterall, you are the first man she will ever love.
