Fun/weird things to do on days off

Try getting a fast pass from every ride to make a collection.

If you REALLY want to make it tricky, try getting one from every ride in the same day!

That would probably take some strategic planning to figure out which ones go quick so you could get them early. If you started at the very beginning of the day you might be able to get 15 of them or so in one day depending on how long the park was open for.

I like the idea a lot. Thanks.

I don't know if it is even possible to get a fastpass from every attraction in one day. Even 15 seems like a stretch. I could certainly collect them all throughout a couple days though.

Any other ideas out there?

take a picture in each of the restrooms. Tried that once at disneyland. They all look different. You get some really weird looks from people but it is fun.

A friend of mine got a group together to play capture the flag on tom sawyer island.

I think it would be cool to just take pictures of the restroom signs. I can't wait to try some of these myself.

Great ideas! Thanks!

It looks like I'll have a bunch of photo albums.

Any other ideas?

Have a magical day!

Has anyone (or know someone who has) rode every monorail in one day. I believe there are 12 (?) different colored monorails and on busy days they use all 12. I have heard that it has been done, but was just looking for more details.

Thanks and have a magical day!

ha ha this is a silly question but, is there a library near by? Like, could you go to maybe the Orlando public library and get a temporary library card?

I currently work at a library and could not imagine life with out one! Lol

Here's one, when I worked down at Disney May 01-May 02, we had a club for everyone who accomplished the following. There were only 4 people who finished it in one day.

You had to ride the big attractions at each park:

Magic Kingdom:
Thunder, Space, Splash and Buzz were the four we added here

Epcot:
Test Track, now you can add mission space and soaring

Hollywood Studios:
RnRC, and ToT, now you can add Toy Story Mania

Animal Kingdom:
Safari, Dinosaur, and now you can add Everest.

It takes some planning and fast pass use. Best of luck to you.

Thats amazing that someone could finish that... great challenge. This one will certainly be something I try.

Thanks a lot. Keep the ideas coming.

You could set up a scavenger hunt with some friends. Put ridiculous things on the list, like taking a picture of a really hard to find hidden mickey, or with a hard to find character. Try to get CM's to do a funny pose. Find the talking trash can...etc...

If you have a car, or a friend with a car, don't forget about the non-Disney attractions in and around Orlando- the Upside-Down House (which has an actual name that I can't remember right now) and other randomness on International Drive, or even Cocoa or Clearwater Beach if you're up for a day trip.

If you just want to stick with Disney, though, making up challenges for yourself and your friends (like the major-rides-in-one-day challenge) is a lot of fun. Sometimes, my friends would pick a pin category, and whoever had traded for the most of that pin by the end of the day would win.

Wow! That is a challenge. There a couple of ones I would not ride. But I would love to try to do something like this!

....the Upside-Down House (which has an actual name that I can't remember right now).

Wonder Works! :)

Sea World and Busch Gardens are options as well. Sea World was about 4.3 miles (around 9 minutes) from my apartment (Chatham) during the CP. Sea World also has a new water park open, Aquatica.

Busch Gardens is roughly an 1 hour and 14 minutes away from CP housing - I hear there are lots of good roller coasters! I haven't been back since I was 6.

i don't find it silly since i spent a lot of my childhood in the library and feel most at home in one. there are a few libraries in the area. the one i find easiest if you are w/o transportation is the osceola branch near Celebration.
You'd catch the #56 at TTC and get off after passing celebration.

I had originally called the orange branch to find out if i could get a card and gave them my zip code then was told we are in osceola. but when i went to the branch in osceola the lady told me i was in orange county. But she did give me a card for a month and i am sure i will be able to extend the time whether it is with on or the other.

the thing like best is they offer some great options for dvds or videos...cuts down on the cost of renting. plus i think there are some perks with having a library card...something about museum passes..i may have to check in on that

Ah yes renting movies and CDs from the library is great! Not many people know about doing that and are wasting there money at Blockbuster and stuff while their tax dollars are getting the same movies :sad2:. And museum passes: we have the Macy's Museum Adventure Pass program here in MI, but I couldnt find it in FL.

Thanks for the info!!!

if you go to http://www.osceolalibrary.org/ and scroll down to the lower right hand side and click on "library use catalog" area, then place the # 1 in each item it tells about the value of each thing available. i am sure somewhere on the site there is more info

I read a TR once about a couple who did all of the attractions in the order they opened. It was at Disneyland, which probably made it a little easier, but it still took them all day. I think they managed to get everything, but it could be different with the refurb and seasonal stuff. It might be fun to try in MK, of you could find a list of current attractions and when they opened.

A group of us did "Around the World Showcase in 80 Minutes". Set your own rules, but we had the following
-no running!
-a creative photo must be taken in each nation
-an activity must be completed(window shopping, eating, riding, etc.) in each nation

There may have been more, but I can't recall. The photos are great and we met some Norwegians and Brits on that trip who are still very close friends of ours. It's a lot of fun and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The time limit does make it a challenge, but it can be done...also, don't forget about the Outpost (if it's still there)!

Also, a bunch of us had planned to do the 'Ultimate IASW Endurance Challenge' ...we wanted to get approval to ride over and over, no sleeping, earplugs, headphones, etc. and see who could be sole survivor after listening to that song non-stop.

And of course, we wanted to do a scavenger hunt, but it never happened.

Good luck!
