Hello all!

I have not been to Orlando during the summer since I was a teenager. Longer ago and many pounds smaller than I want to admit... !!

Since I usually go in the winter and wear jeans, I'm getting a little panicked about what to wear next week. I'm due for a shopping trip pre-vacation :-) :-) :-)

I know people don't really care what you wear as long as all your bits are covered up... and I've never really noticed what other people where wearing actually. Thought it might be fun to get some inspiration before shopping.

Soooo what are some of your favorite theme park outfits to wear during the summer?

Here I am wet and cold last year at Universal - I'll take wet and cold over the heat any day ;-P

Hi there! What a fun idea. Not a lot of votes yet, but dresses are winning so far. I do love sun dresses and athleisure wear. I'm definitely fond of running skirts cool, with a nice range of movement and it's meant to sweat in. Look for moist wicking and breathable.

Sun dresses are nice too. The slip shorts that jockey makes. I think they're called skimmies go great under sun dresses so you're worry free.

I'm sure others will have amazing suggestions!

Love skorts with a cargo pocket or zipped pockets. I just bought a good one at Athleta. That newest one is also made of wicking material so god for hot weather and/ or water rides. Just with a tank and sandals.

Wear what ever you are comfortable in. Make sure shoes i.e. Sandals, gym shoes are comfortable. Keep well hydrated, keep the sun screen on and have a good time.

I see a lot of shorts, Capri pants and sun dresses. T-shirts and summer tops. Go with your own style and be comfy what ever you choose.

Have a great trip pixiedust:

File these two under the things that cannot be unseen:

Dresses - You may think you have it all covered. Do a test run at home, have a trusted one do a preview. :rolleyes1there's a lot of bending & scrambling in/out of vehicles. Might want to consider donning a bath suit bottom or bike-type/workout shorts underneath.

women's shirts - you will get wet on the water rides. If you don't want to look like you are a wet-tshirt contestant (wicking/athletic type or reguarlar tshirt) wear proper bra/swim top underneath.

Light weight, water repellant or wicking is how I roll. Pair w/keen sandals, no blisters when feet get wet in rain/rides & closed toes protect the pedicure and tootsies from getting stomped on in crowds.

Lastly, something to pull up my hair and a light-colored sun blocking hat that can easily be rolled up and stowed. Good for protection from sun, mid-day heat and light showers.

Dresses! Wear what you feel comfortable with but look good in photos. But I love cute dresses most

I always wear dresses (and Teva sandals) as that's the most cool and comfortable for me. Here are a few of my theme park outfits from my last 2 trips.

I find Kohls and Macys usually have really cute dressses for around $20 if you get them on sale. But ultimately you've got to wear whatever is comfortable for you - if you're not comfortable, you're not going to have a good time. Happy shopping!

Dress and "bike" shorts. But really they are running shorts. And now I'm on Kohl's looking up those skimmies.

My fave dresses are "yoga" dresses (like I'd wear a dress to do yoga in?), but I only get those on mega clearance from REI. Which is why I only have two LOL. They don't go on mega clearance very often.

As for shoes, I was in my 20s in the 90s and I absolutely am 100% behind wearing athletic shoes and socks with a cute sundress. It's the look from the 90s we really must bring back and KEEP this time. In my version of themepark-cool, that is the footwear. With my Sanuks (not the awful flat hard footbed with the big thick fabric straps, but the ones my son outgrew and now are mine mine mine with the SOFT yogamat footbed and the normal "thong" toe straps) as a backup. Re-sunscreen if you change TO flipflops!

Sundresses I can layer a sweater if needed. I hate shorts but may buy some capri pants this year.

I've always wondered who would wear a dress to a theme park and now I know. But you're cute and look great in them! I hardly ever wear dresses anymore so it's certainly not gonna happen on vacation (and, admittedly, doesn't look quite the same on a scooter, anyway ). Capri pants for me.

I wear all kinds of things to the park!
I've been in athletic shorts and a tank... sometimes with swimsuit under all the way to jeans, boots, and jacket! It all depends on when I'm going. I prefer not going when it's hot enough to make me feel sticky. I definitely prefer wearing jeans and boots.

During May-September I'm definitely in shorts-- If I'm at Universal I'm usually wearing something Universal related. (Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, etc.) If it's going to be up in the 90s I usually throw on athleticwear as it's meant for sweat and dries out quickly. I will share I found I was much more comfortable in a sportsbra than a regular one. I would say a single layer is always best! Looser fitting helps keep you cooler. Atleast it does me as it helps more air in.

From October-April it depends on the day and the weather. Sometimes jeggings and boots, sometimes jeans and tennis shoes, sometimes shorts! You never know during that time!

If it's raining I wear boots, tank top, rainjacket, and a hat. I find I'm pretty invincible when I dress like that in the rain. My feet don't get wet, my hood sticks to my hat and my hat protects my glasses from the water. My hair is under the hat so who cars about that... and my jegging jeans dry pretty quickly. I have not experienced rain in the crazy hot months though. Doubt I could handle boots but HATE my feet being wet!

I'd upload a photo but dis won't let me at the moment.
