Fun things for teenage girls

My DD and her best friend will be with us on this trip. They don't want to hang with us parents or siblings. We are staying onsite so they will have bus transportation. I am looking for things that 18 year old girls would enjoy. Any suggestions would be wonderful. If the suggestion come from me they won't be cool so I need your help. We will be there 6/27 thru 7/2 so the FP window will be here soon. Dining suggestions would also be welcome. They are hoping only to see us morning and night. They are considering this their senior trip before they head off to different collages.

Our teenage DDs love the countries of EPCOT. They love the shopping and the food in all of the countries. They also love the nightlife on the Boardwalk and walking to Beaches and Cream for ice cream.

We stay together for all meals except when we eat around the world in EPCOT - we all have different favorite countries. In EPCOT they love Via Napoli, San Angel Inn, Nine Dragons, Garden Grill and love Akershus to see the princesses.
In MK they love Be Our Guest.
In the AKL - they truly love Sanaa - it is one of their favorite restaurants.
In HS - they love Sci Fi and Prime time.

They also love to go shopping and to eat at Disney Springs. Have Fun!

I think you can let them "go" with picking their own FP+'s and have plans to meet up at meals. Are they looking to do any of the water parks? Will you be park hopping? Are they looking to do any extras like Cirque de Solei or parasailing? Have either of them been there before? There is a lot to do and they can easily fill up their days, just depends on what they would like to do and if all or just some meals are together.

Without knowing their likes and dislikes, I could not tell you what they might find fun. I actually went to WDW with my parents and sister when I was 18. Since it was just me and not a friend, I spent most of my time with my parents, but I still took some time and went off by myself. I had a lot of fun checking out the various resorts.

I will say that at 18, I was better off just making my own plans. I would just let them decide how to plan their days with FP+ and dining. If anything, I would just point them to some websites and tell them to have fun.

Has either girl been to Disney before? By your post count it looks like No may be the answer--at least you're new to here if not Disney! If not, then send them online and get familiar with what's there and plan for themselves. I know my 17 year old daughter finds the planning as much fun as the trip itself. She's very into watching VLOGs on youtube, so, again, if they're unfamiliar with what's there have them check some out. (My teen is currently watching David Simpson Disney vlogs--he gives a good overview of the parks and rides/attractions).
We went in 2014 with another teen, who enjoyed the shows and atmosphere more than the thrill rides, my teen is more into the thrill rides. So it very much depends on your particular teens!

My DD brought along her BFF for her Sweet Sixteen trip! They had a great time!

They had their own room, connected to ours. I allowed charging privileges on their Magic Bands, so they could eat whenever. Really they spent about 60 percent of the time with us, and 40 without us. It was their choice.

They loved BOG---we went once for lunch and once for supper
They did a bit of Disneybounding, especially on the night we went to MNSSHP. (Too old/cool for real costumes)

Lots, and lots and lots, and lots of pictures with the phones. Gotta keep a live feed on those twitter, yik yak, snapchat, etc. accounts. Seriously, they laughed so hard---it was a hoot! Loved seeing them act like kids again! And I do mean LOTS, lol!

My DH and I let them use our bands to ride a few favorites twice in a row. They thought that was a great perk!

We basically gave them a few rules for when we were apart. Mostly common sense and checking in occasionally. We let them set the agenda and pace for the day, since the trip was for DD.

DH and I enjoyed the couple time when the girls were off, since we've never been to WDW just the two of us---BONUS!

I would agree on dining and / or FP together, otherwise I would tell them to save the money and go on their own when they can afford it. It's still a family trip. I would send them online and let them discover the parks on the Disney websites & youtube.

If they love shopping -> Disney Springs and Epcot countries
If they love tanning / sun bathing / swimming -> Water park
If they love thrill rides -> Hopper pass and let them do all thrill rides in one day.
If they are princesses at heart -> M&G all princesses, princess dinner + parade
If they love boys -> Just send them in the parks looking for handsome CMs, meet Gaston, Tarzan, Peter Pan, Naveen etc. See Indiana Jones (Oh my... the Greek stunt guy's muscles...)
If they love Disney -> A backstage tour maybe
If they love adventures and discovering things a different way -> Agent P's adventures or SOTMK
If they like to sing -> Frozen Singalong, Voices of Liberty, Dapper Dans

I went to Disney with an older teen girl, and she loved the characters. Her makeup and outfit had to be just perfect for each encounter! I have never spent as much time in line for characters in all my other trips combined. The trip was for her, so I let her lead the way. It was a very different trip for me, but I enjoyed seeing Disney through her eyes.

As a 19 year old girl i LOVE characters (if you can't tell by my picture lol). I always try to look nice to see my favorites. They're great to talk to and I have a very large album of selfies I have taken with characters which is also fun to see different characters react to. If I'm on a trip without my whole family and it's more low key I like to take pictures both on my phone and camera. I do love eating with my family but I am really close with both my parents and my brother and sister but everyone is different! Epcot is also one of my favorite parks. I love taking in and spending time in each country. I recommend Morocco. so easy to "get lost in" and so different for the typical European style of a lot of the countries!

As for where to dine BOG is great because you're placed right into the middle of a Disney movie you grew up watching. so magical. I also am a fan of snacking around Epcot. you don't get so full you feel sick but you could try a little of everything!

Thank you all for the responses. I am not a newbie and have been to Disney many times just not recently as our last 4 trips to FL my kids wanted to do Universal instead. My old handle "Tank" somehow got lost when I switched emails. My DD has been to Disney many times but not since she was 12 so has never been on her own. Her friend went with us on that trip also and was her only time there. So for the girls this will be a new experience being away from their tour guide(me). I liked the idea of the countries at EPCOT since they never had much interest when they were young it will be a new place to explore. I am not sure about the nightlife on the boardwalk? It did not exist before I had the kids and we never did nightlife when they were young? I would love to hear more. They would love Karen's suggestion about meeting handsome cast members but I don't think I will suggest that since I want to enjoy this trip also. She loved the characters at 12 but I don't know if she would admit it now, perhaps if she were on her own, I will suggest that. They will have hoppers and water park access. I will definetely suggest they check out the vlogs.

It's been about 13 years ago (wow!) but I went to Disney when I was 18. I was with my parents, aunt, uncle, and 5 year old cousin. I also brought a friend. We stayed with my family a decent amount mainly because we both loved my little 5 year old cousin and wanted to see it with her! I do remember really enjoying shopping/eating on our own one afternoon at downtown Disney while the rest of the family did something else. We also had a great time going back to the parks late for fireworks and more rides while the rest of the family went on to bed!

My sisters are 18 and we went to WDW this January! B's favorite park is Magic Kingdom, but she LOVED Epcot! She had so much fun doing Kidcot (even though it drove me nuts), and while she enjoyed the pizza at Via Napoli, it was the cute busboys she really fell in love with. I think we stayed there an extra 30 minutes just so she could draw out the "experience." She was also mesmerized by how cute Gaston was!

Both twins really like the Citizens of Hollywood, and when I chaperoned their high school trip last year, the group of 17/18-year olds I was with loved them too. The Dapper Dans are also a favorite!

I thought my sisters wouldn't really care for character meet and greets, but they were pretty enthusiastic about them! Baymax is a must-do, as are Pooh and Tigger, and Chip and Dale.

Make sure your daughter or her friend has the Boomerang app! I think my sisters spent half of our last trip making GIFs of themselves with it. They came out really neat! When we went, the PhotoPass photographers weren't familiar with how to use the app yet, but a quick explanation is all it takes (only if there isn't a line waiting though).

Sadly during our October trip I had to bribe my DD and her bestie (both 18) to go to the pool while I went to EPCOT and hubby went golfing. I still had to snapchat with her and show her what I was eating and drinking!

We got home 1 week ago from a 9 night WDW trip with 4 teens - our recently adopted twin 15 year old girls and their 17 and 18 year old girlfriends. It was the first WDW visit for all of them. They stayed with us the whole time. They loved everything. Although our twins are cranky towards us, their friends were wonderful! Other than the usual stuff, the kids liked mini golf, the water park, and Beaches and Cream.
