Good question. I would love an answer to this one as well. I was thinking about 2 nine year olds for the 4 hour trek by airplane.

You could also try those smaller toy specialty stores if you have any in your area. We have a Be Beep toy store that has all kinds of toys not sold at your average TRS. I took DD there yesterday and came away with some of the coolest travel games! We got magnetic Hangman, a game called Squiggles that you have to draw letters and make animals out of, Travel bingo, and animal Suduko. These are great games for travel. We also go to Borders or Books a Million and stock up on sticker, coloring, and chapter books for the 14 hour drive down. I always get some cheap surprise toys too.
