Fun, Sun, and Mickey Mouse! An August 2009 TR...new 11/19 p. 34

Oh my gosh hahaha I remember that too! And yes that was totally the song about the elephant for Christmas! OK now I want to be 5 years old, at Disney, getting ready for Christmas.

haha, you don't have to be 5 years old to watch them. I remember once when my parents went out when I was 15ish my sisters and I pulled out some of the sing-alongs and watched them. :rotfl::rotfl:

Sarah,
I'll be back later to catch up!! I have been so busy with life and other things it's been crazy and I haven't had as much time for DIS.

Hey Colleen, no worries, I hear ya on being busy with other things. I've been pretty busy the past couple weeks too.

I'd like to have an elephant for Christmaaaaaas... maybe Santa you could bring me one! OMG we soo have all of those movies!

I wish we'd seen them do the Main Street USA song! My favorite part in the movie is when Bert shakes his hands in time to the piano. No idea why.... just is.

Thank you for the parade pics! We missed it this year and I was really looking forward to it. :sad1:

Sarah,
Great updates it's great for some ppl that they are extended the What willyou celebrate promotion. NOt me though my bday is in July and I go in aug/sept! LOL! BTW HAPPY BELATED BDAY!!! I missed it somehow! It's a good thing when work gets in the way of DIS! ;) My DH's work has slowed down alot it's crazy he's a flat rate mechanic for a dealership here and it's a mess! So your Mom is in Disney with out you? That's cool is she by herself or is your dad there to? I'll be waiting for your next update hopefully I get on here more but it's a hectic time right now. I have my cousins wedding tommorrow night. I'll check back soon.

I wonder if we still have ours. It would be neat to watch them again just for kicks.

LOL, that's funny. I always remembered the part where Minnie is sitting up on the piano.

You're welcome for the pictures. That stinks you missed it!

I found your TR. I'll start reading this evening. I look forward to checking out your trip.:thumbsup2

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

My birthday's actually in March but I did just have my half birthday! ;)

Yeah, Mom's in Disney World with my grandma and 3 of my aunts. My one aunt, who is also in DVC, used their points to get a 2BR at Saratoga Springs. Mom called a couple times yesterday...they ate at the T-Rex Cafe last night and are going to the Studios today. In fact they might even be there as I'm writing this. They'll also meet up with my cousin, the one who is doing the PI. Ahhhh so jealous! :sad2:

Yes, I just saw your new TR. I'm subscribed!

Hi Sarah,
Sorry I have been MIA lately. Busy, and recently back from FL trip. I am enjoying your reports, I just love the MK, and you have so many great pictures to go along with your TR. I still have never been to Casey's to eat, hmmmmmm, maybe on a future trip.
I rented TSM from Blockbuster this weekend. Haven't played for too long, I couldn't even get into the games last night, very frustrating. But I finally was able to figure it out. It is fun, and some games are very similar to the ride. Maybe I will be able to raise my score the next time I go to the parks. I rode three times when I was there on the 23rd, once with a fastpass. Such fun.
I esp love your pictures of the VWL common areas. Now I wish I would have walked over. I stayed at the WL, a very convenient room just down the hall from the gift shop. What a great resort, I just love it there!
How bout those Brewers? Way to finish the season strong. Too bad they didn't end up with a winning season. Will you be watching the big football game tomorrow night? So much hype on tv this weekend.
Hope your mom had a great trip, I can understand your jealousy.........;)

Hi, welcome back! How was your trip?! Hopefully lots of fun. :thumbsup2

That's cool you rented the TSM game! It is a lot of fun, probably even moreso because of the ride. My mom called on Saturday while they were in line for TSM and called right after they got off...I think she liked it but she said she stunk. :rotfl:

I'm glad you liked the WL too! Bummer you didn't make it over to the Villas though.

I can't believe the Brewers are done now! :sad2: We were at the second to last home game (when they played the Phillies) which was exciting. I think they won the last 5 games we went to...we saw a lot of walkoff wins in those games! I still miss last season, especially since it was right around this time last year we were going to the postseason rally and the first home game. On the bright side Marquette Madness is next Friday night so basketball season is right around the corner.

As for the game tonight...I am so nervous! But hopefully the Packers can stick it to Brett Favre.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Friday night I went to my high school's homecoming game but more importantly, Dad, Claire, and I got our Disney fix yesterday by going to see the Toy Story double feature! That was a lot of fun. We kept saying how we remembered seeing it in the theaters the first time it came out. So even though we've seen the movies before it was cool seeing them in 3D. There was also a preview for Toy Story 3 which looks great too. Andy is going to college and donates all his toys to a daycare...haha! That means trouble for all the toys! I also got a kick out of this one kid who during the first movie at the part where Sid is about to blow up Buzz Lightyear, was reciting Woody's lines, like when he says "Reach for the skyyyyyy!" and "Someone's poisoned the waterhole!" Hmm, somebody has seen that movie one too many times...:rotfl: But it was hilarious. So if you get the chance to see it (it's only around for 2 weeks!) I'd recommend going! The 3D is really amazing.

I'm hoping to get another update done soon so I can finish this TR! We've also been talking and there might be another trip in the works...so stay tuned! popcorn::

I was wondering how they were going to do Toy Story 3! I can't wait for it!

I don't know if I'll be able to go see the double feature :sad1: I really want to, but I don't know if I'll have time! Maybe I can persuade my boyfriend we should go tomorrow night ::yes::

We were curious too to see if they were going to have Andy grow up or if he'd still be a kid. The preview was awesome. :thumbsup2

Hopefully you can go see the double feature! I forgot to mention there's a 10 minute intermission with trivia and "Toy Story Treats" (short little clips that are kind of like the outtakes they do at the end of the Pixar movies).

We went and saw the double feature this past weekend. Watching the preview for Toy Story 3 and seeing Andy grown up going to college... I just remember whispering, "Wow." It was very nostalgic for me... I can't wait to see it.

I can't wait either. It'll be fun. :thumbsup2

First off I apologize if this update is kind of sloppy...I'm a little distracted by this football game going on...LOL. ;)

August 22, 2009 (part 3)

After a long morning at the Magic Kingdom, we returned to the Wilderness Lodge for a break. I found that Emma took a picture of the little walkway to the villas. Isn't it cool?

When we got back to the room Emma had a text message from our aunt. She and my uncle were down that weekend too visiting my cousin (who is doing one of the Professional Internships) and wanted to know if we wanted to get together for dinner. Dad tried calling my aunt back but couldn't get a hold of her so we left a message. She did end up calling back shortly after. She suggested going over to the Boardwalk to eat at the ESPN Club, one of our favorite places to eat. We decided to meet up around 6:00 for dinner.

Back at the hotel we took a quick dip in the pool before going over to Epcot, which we figured would be the easiest way to get to the Boardwalk. We'd also be able to see if there were any attractions that we could do beforehand.

Once we arrived at Epcot we checked out the attractions board to see what the wait times were like. Of course Soarin had the longest wait and the fastpasses were gone. No surprise there. We ended up going to the Seas with Nemo and Friends. There was hardly anybody there. We were able to walk through the queue and board right away. Finding Nemo is probably my favorite Pixar movie so I love the ride! It's cute and colorful. The ending with the characters swimming with the real fish is pretty cool too. On the way out, Dad asked the CM at Turtle Talk how long it would be until the next show. It was only a few minutes so we decided to wait. There were a few computers where you could take a quiz about oceanlife so I decided to do it. I think you could choose between a couple different versions...easy or expert (something like that). There were five questions they asked you about different ocean animals. It was pretty interesting. I learned that a seahorse doesn't have a stomach and that dolphins have many different types of calls but one "signature" call. And who says Disney isn't educational? ;) We also watched the stingrays for a bit.

Then it was time for the show to start. We were let into the theater. I think it's so cute how they let all the kids sit up front on the "seagrass." The CM told us we'd be using a hydrophone to talk to a very special guest...Crush! Just like the Laugh Floor, we think this is another great show even though we don't have any small kids with us. Some of the stuff Crush said was great. And then the kids are so funny too, like how they all thought it was so funny when Crush came out wearing the bikini top and said how it's for girls (Crush thought that was pretty embarrassing) and just some of the questions they ask. One kid raised his hand to ask a question and just made some random comment. :rotfl: We also got to meet Dory and she taught everyone how to speak whale. Overall it was a fun time. Definitely got a lot of laughs out of it.

By that time it was getting close to 6:00 so we made our way over to the International Gateway and walked over to the Boardwalk. When we got there our aunt, uncle and cousin were already there and had put our name in for dinner. We didn't have to wait too long before we were taken to a table. I don't remember what everyone had to eat. I had the chicken nuggets and I think Emma did too but we all enjoyed it. It was also neat hearing about my cousin's experiences in her internship. She's really enjoying it and we just found out that she is trying to extend it until June. As we were leaving the line for the ESPN Club was starting to build up. Good thing we got there when we did!

Then we all headed back to Epcot but went our separate ways. My cousin, aunt, and uncle had fastpasses for Soarin that they got earlier in the day and we decided to just stroll around World Showcase since we wanted to see Illuminations. Since we didn't get any dessert at the ESPN Club we all got one of those Mickey ice cream sandwiches to enjoy. Mmmm. A few pictures from our walk...we also saw a bunch of people doing the Kim Possible missions which I really wanted to do when we came back to Epcot.

Vikings...I hate Vikings...:mad::mad:

We decided to stop in Mexico to do the Gran Fiesta Tour, something we haven't done a lot. I have to say the Mexico pavilion is pretty neat. While I am not a big fan of Mexican food, the restaurant in there does seem to have a cool atmosphere.
6289_1147275974507_1605780003_30581737_7253894_n.jpg

Not too many people were there so again, it was a short wait. As we set sail, the people in front of the boat were saying how the smoke coming from the volcano was in the shape of a Mickey head. I don't know if that's supposed to be a hidden Mickey or if that's even true but it sounded interesting! That's another cute ride, very similar to It's a Small World. At the end the one lady in front of us started singing. We must've got all the singers on this trip since that was the second time that happened on a ride! Not that I mind, it's amusing.

To end the evening we saw Illuminations. We found a spot in between the two gift shops on the Future World side of WS.

Soon the sound of beating drums filled the air and the fireworks lit up the sky. Some of these pictures might be out of order since I'm combining mine and Emma's. One of these days I'll learn how to take pictures of fireworks.

As usual it was an amazing show. My favorite parts are when all the pavilions light up and the "We Go On" song. Love it! And so another Disney day came to a magical ending. We made our way out of Epcot to catch the bus back to the Wilderness Lodge.

Hey! I think your update is great! We are watching the game too, lol.

I love thep ictures you took in Italy!! Beautiful.

Aww I love that part too in Illuminations. It makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, haha.
