Saturday March 24th
Weather ~ hot and sunny 83*F
Woo hoo!!! Today was a special day, our IllumiNations cruise!!!
After breakfast we drove to Epcot
and headed, along with everyone else
straight to collect fastpasses for Soarin’. We hadn’t ridden TestTrack last time so we went over to ride that and thoroughly enjoyed it.
We spent some time going round The Seas Pavilion and rode The Seas with Nemo & Friends (sweet ride) and Turtle Talk With Crush (also sweet). We wandered round Innoventions and sent an e-mail to Bryan’s brother who lives in Australia and is getting married the following week. We do feel slightly guilty for not being at his wedding but we had already booked this holiday when he announced his date.
We then rode Spaceship Earth and just had time for an ice-cream before it was time for our Soarin’ fastpasses. We were really lucky and got seated in the front row………well, what can I say ~ it was brilliant, amazing, we all loved it!
Afterwards we went to Club Cool for a refreshment ~ it took us a while to find this as we kept looking for the old igloo entrance!
I don’t think the Beverly tasted as bad as I had remembered
We all decided we liked the Costa Rican drink best.
We then left the park and collected our car and drove to the Yacht Club. We had a wander round then went to Beaches and Cream. We only had to wait (about 20 minutes) because we preferred to sit at a booth rather than a table, otherwise we would have been seated straight away. We all had burgers and fries which were very good followed by Mickey Mouse Sundaes. I would love to try a Kitchen Sink but we just couldn’t face it! A party of 4 at the next table to us attempted one
but didn’t get very far!
We walked back to Epcot and wandered through World Showcase for an hour, as far as Japan. I love Epcot and could quite happily while away several days here!
Then it was back to the Yacht Club Marina to meet our Captain.
We were very lucky, we were allocated Captain Ron who was a lovely gentleman ~ he really made the evening special.
He took us for a ride around the lake, right up to MGM so we could watch some of the fireworks from Fantasmic before going back to Epcot and mooring under the bridge between UK and France.
Captain Ron kept us entertained with non-stop jokes and anecdotes along with the refreshments and when IllumiNations started we had an absolutely perfect view!
All too soon it was over and time to say goodbye but what a perfect day.
Here are the girls with Captain Ron wearing his Eeyore ears!
Tomorrow ~ Two Kingdoms, Magic
and Animal!
