We are heading to Disney in October. We arrive on Oct 3rd in the afternoon. We have decided not to go to the parks this day, but to hang out and swim at our resort, the CBR. I'm trying to figure out where to go for dinner that night. I have 2 boys, 5 and 7. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have heard something about Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness lodge. Does anyone know anything about this or have any other suggestions.
Thanks for the help!!!

What about T Rex in downtown disney? We're going to go there if we cant do early check in our 1st day.

thanks for that suggestion. I definitely want to do that one at some point on our trip. That might just be the perfect time to do it. Thanks.

Whispering Canyon is fun, but we like T-Rex also! It gives us another excuse to go to DTD and hit World of Disney :rotfl:.

Hi neighbor (I'm from Indiana). We are also checking in on the 3rd. We're staying at POP. Just thought I'd subscribe to your thread to see what suggestions you get. I'm also trying to decided where to eat on arrival day. I've been thinking about Chef Mickeys but I might save that for our MK day if I can find another option.

We went to WCC on our last trip and weren't really impressed. The food was OK but we had much better meals that week. We also didn't get much server interaction (which is the reason we went). We were seated in a small section in the back of the restaurant and although our server was friendly, she didn't "play" as much as the servers in the main section. If you decided to try it and want to do the fun stuff, I would request to sit in the main dining area.

Have a great trip. Hope we both picked a good time to go.

My son is that age and he likes whispering canyon. His favorite is probably Coral Reef, but that requires Epcot admission.
I always thought Beaches and Cream would be a fun one to try.

I second the T-Rex idea! If they like dinosaurs this is the place for them. Plus they can burn off some energy playing at the Lego store which I think is right across from t-rex.

We really enjoy heading to Downtown Disney on our arrival day. Went to TRex in Feb, and it was super great fun. I like to mix it up on our trips, but we so enjoyed this, we will be doing it again in Nov on Day 1.

Have a great time!!!

Thanks for the info. We too are going with granparents in October. The last 2 time we have gone we have gone the week of Oct. 3rd. Oct. 3rd is our wedding Anniversary and it's been a nice time to be there. We went to Dis on our honeymoon in 1998.
Anyway, thanks so much again for your input. It really helps.
I think we may be leaning towards T-Rex in DTD. I know we will do Chef Mickeys, but will probably save that for our MK day as well.
Have fun planning for your trip!!!!

This was exactly my thought. If something happens with your travel plans and are delayed, it's not a pre-paid meal, like HDDR, and can be cancelled if you have to. It's only a bus ride away too.:drive:
